I DON'T OWN THE RIGHTS OF THE SONG OR THE VIDEO.
Written by Petula Clark and John Bromley and sung by Petula Clark, arranged and produced by Johnny Harris from her British L.P. “Petula ‘71"
I love how the hallway part is shot and edited:
1) Ed finally realises the amount of women working at NASA and how much they feel Molly's accomplishment. He saw before that his kid could finally ride a bike thanks to his wife and understands all the hard work women do on a daily basis and how little recognition they have.
2) He lets Molly to take the lead, but she seems to be in a bit of shock. She is now the focus of this mission, more than ever before, and starts feeling the pressure of being the first American woman in space.
3) And then, she sees her companions. The first batch of American women astronauts, the first of many to come (hopefully, I'm still on episode 4). Now she is more commited that ever, because this is not only about her personal goals or bullshit politics. She's a living symbol, a legend in the making, somebody to look up to. And it's in that moment, when she sees the cheer and enthusiasm of her mates, that she looks up to the front and becomes the astronaut she was always supposed to be.
Great gesture from Baldwin to let Cobb walk in front of him. He understands the symbolism of her being in the crew of Apollo 15.
He understands they need to win "hearts and minds" to get nation support long term.
Umm...
I didn’t even notice that my first time watching
Def a classy move. Gotta love Ed.
He knew who they wanted to see
It was the first time hearing this great song on this show. It’s a great show with great music.
Literally my favourite scene of Season 1
Same here. Love the song they used
The For All Mankind Apollo 15 crew consisted of Edward Baldwin, Molly Cobb, and Frank Sedgwick. The crew in real life was David Scott, Alfred Worden, and James Irwin. The backup crew was Richard Gordon, Vance Brand, and Harrison Schmitt.
The best part of ep 4.
No need to say what brought me here. Think it is amazing that in 48 years I’’ve missed out in this amazing song. How curious it is that those series brings about that sweet connection of these hidden gems in history. It is not the first time.
For All Mankind,.🤘
Ditto, what a series and what a song.
Series has a decent soundtrack, but mostly stuff I have heard way too much on oldies radio station. Much like the Forrest Gump soundtrack. But yeah, this 50 year old track was a very nice surprise. Would love to know who thought to pair the song and the scene. Can't think of another time when a tune this good, but unheralded, was given such a showcase.
Yea,..right on about that and I’ve seen quite a few. The song is extremely uplifting (close to anthem level) and coupled with that scene it kinda blew you out of the chair.
All up to that moment Cobb went from almost obnoxious to highly delightful with her very dry comment and Baldwin‘s priceless reply. What a truly magical scene to remember. 🤩
And we have lift off !! 🚀
.
"Popular Apple TV+ show "For All Mankind" is currently shooting its third season, but Apple may have already authorized a fourth season of the drama, if information on an updated Writers Guild of America (WGA)"
Awesome,.🤘
They shoulda used "Quicksand" (the last version) from David Bowie somewhere. KICKA SS TUNE!
@@heidbaw ditto squared
One of the best tv show so far
If you work a government job, Ed joke is much funnier.
Definitely lmao
Classic astronaut joke...
I love how the first half of season 1 feels like a biopic of our early days

Thanks. I've updated the description.
I'm so happy I started to watch this series. It's really amazing and I looove this song 😍!
Heard this song on the episode and went straight to Apple Music i will forever have this scene and song to relate to one another
same here...love it
I bought the 7" single for $5.
Amazing scene from season 1. Prob my fave. The directing, acting, cinematography and music… damn good!
That show is terrific ! I sometimes feel sad after watching because I wish this would be our reality
good cut.
This is a great Sci-fi show...it scratches the Expanse itch
This song was playing in my head when I watched the Artemis 1 launch
I think it'd be a better fit for Artemis III in 2025 because that's when they're planning to send the first woman on the moon. We'll have to wait 3 more years.

This gave me chills
Me too :)
Crazy to think that after 67 years, we will have this future finally happen.
Lol what makes you think it's actually gonna happen?
@@Brendan-Black
We're a year away from the launch of Artemis 2. If not us then Europe or Japan.
@@ScienceMan314 Christina Koch will be the first woman to reach the Moon.
@@Jake-rc4xi
I know she will.
@@Jake-rc4xi My bet is that they'll assign Nicole Mann for Artemis III to be the first woman to set foot on the moon
Great song and great show. They sure do know how to create moments.
Season 2 is out now!
I like how they used PAO Jack King's voice at the 3:12 mark, sort of a connection to the real-life Apollo era. However, Molly and Sedgwick are in the wrong seats.
I've rewatched the series like, 4 or 5 times and I LITERALLY just said that when watching this clip.
Oh right, the LEM pilot was always right seat. Missed that. I remember this because of Beano in Apollo 12.
This song is currently (2022) available to buy on Amazon digital at least in the U.K. possibly also I Tunes

The story of the last 3 ladies clapping….awesome. Love this show
Tracy Stevens, Danielle Poole, Ellen Wilson
love this show. margo is my favorite character.
Best scene of FAMK! The song's open ended inclusivity and three people stepping into history with so much hope riding on their shoulders. If one didn't know the real history - one could be forgiven for taking this wonderful scene at face value.
Love this scene does anyone know where I can find the next minute where they play American woman by the guess who?
Watching this after the two scrubbed Artemis 1 launch attempts.
They all coulda grinned just a little more throughout the sequence jee wiz Ed.
Why weren't women and minorities chosen to be astronauts before 1978 in the prime universe?
Before the shuttle program started there wasn’t much need for them.
Or public desire for them.
NASA wanted test pilots with college degrees and many women couldnt be test pilots and many minorities found it hard to get a degree.
Then even if they did manage those things there was still prejudice to deal with.
First time I heard this song, and it's so fitting. One of my favourite scenes!
Everyone can have there time, the trick is knowing when to pass the baton to keep those times going for us all.
Gran serie, "otros mundos". Ojala que vuelvan las grabaciones pasada la pandemia... Esperando más capítulos
Creo que esta confirmada temporada 3 y podría salir como entre junio o febrero. Se me olvido mencionar que del 2022
Love that sequence
4:15.

Amazing!
up until now, the show was ... okay ... but that sequence everything came together. wonderful. goosepimples. how nice that the shows producers found and went with such a brilliant yet relatively un-played song. i'm gonna split hairs now, but my only criticism is that the three weren't followed by a fire marshall. when watching Apollo 11 film, the astronauts were followed, as the cases they carry are oxygen tanks (correct me if i'm wrong).
Excelente serie de ciencia ficción, en un mundo con una historia paralela
🧚🏻♂️❣️☯️🌏
Nearly 60 years later, there is still NOTHING to compare to the liftoff of a Saturn V rocket going to the Moon. Nothing.
I never did “get” revisionist history.😮
Some are not interested in fiction and others relish it. Different strokes...
That song just didn't do it for me. Sounded kinda corny.
