Not necessarily so. Do not wait for age to slow down the progression. See a rheumatologist if not seen already, exercise regularly, stop smoking if doing so. Be proactive & ensure that AS is controlled.

It is not necessary to continue taking Saaz while on Adalimumab. However, we often continue it if Adalimumab is planned for a short period like 6 months. If AS is well controlled, adalimumab is stopped & background medicines (saaz) is continued further.

Adalimumab is generally taken once every two weeks while Intacept is taken once a week. The duration between the two doses is prolonged if AS is well controlled. Intacept may be preferred over Adalimumab if one has recurrent infections. Efficacy wise, both are equivalent.

Sir I m having pain at the middle of my back.... sometimes with breathing issues( constant urge to take deep breathe and yawn)... I went to the dr ..without any xray or mri he said it's all because of vitamin D deficiency... my vitamin D level was 7 ... but serum calcium was normal.. but now also I cant sit more than 30mins.. I wake up with stiff back.. and yes I have little knee pain... and m overweight... sir please suggest ... what to do next ...
In Covid part of the problem is due to the virus & quite a bit of it is due to the immunity attacking the issues. That is why biologics have been used & found to be useful in COVID.

My doctor asked me to stop taking saaz and asked just to continue etoshine. But i still have pain and not able to walk if i don't take etoshine for 2 days. And i don't have any side effects from saaz too.

@@DrShashankAkerkar 2012 Diagonsed with Ankolysing Spondylitis 2015 May 1st REMICADE injection (200mg). Remission after first dose. Remicade stopped Fortis CHD 1. June 2019 - Pain and stiffness flared up. 2. ETACEPT(Entracept) Injection (July) - Pain stiffness improved significantly. After 1.5 months pain and stiffness came back. No positive result. Pain stiffness became unbearable. 3. ADFRAR(admilab) Injection - No improvement. Right Ankle became swelled. Jan 2020 1.CT scan revealed Inflammtory Bowel Disease in abdomen. But there was no history and symptoms never shown. 2. REMICADE Infusions - No improvement. 3. On 28th April, diagonsed with uveitis in eye 3rd June -TOFACITNIB started. 1. Initial Dose- 10 mg - Pain and stiffness improved significantly. Pain came back after 1.5 months. 2. Increased Dose(15 mg) - 21 july 3. increased dose(20 mg) - 7 october. current - Pain in my left buttock. Right ankle is swelled even after 10 months. Unable to put weight on my left leg. steroid Injection - Right ankle - 3 inj.(No improvement at all) Right knee - 3 inj. (improvement but sometime pain is there) Right hip - 2 inj(improved) left hip - 2 inj(Presently pain is there)
Remicade infusion 4 doses taken each time 300mg from jan to april but no improvement shown then antibody test taken n came to know that remicade not effective due to its antibody made in the body. Sir right now its too much pain in hip ankle n knee joint even he cant walk with the help of stick.from the last year he is using stick. Is the science fail beyond this???? Plz if u can save our family .I'll be very grateful to u.do something

Mai Adv. Mayur patil..Sir I am AS patient.. sir jab mai chair par baithta hu to thodi der me uthne k baad forward bend hota hu.. chalne me taklif hoti h... But jab bhi mai bed pe se so kar uthta hu to straight chalta ho... Sirf baithne par hi ye problem aati he.. otherwise I can walk straight.... After taking medicines and doing exercise i feel better and able to walk straight... Being a lawyer i have to sit for hours.. so please sir give me advice on this situation...🙏

2015 May 1st REMICADE injection (200mg). Remission after first dose. Remicade stopped
Fortis CHD
1. June 2019 - Pain and stiffness flared up.
2. ETACEPT(Entracept) Injection (July) - Pain stiffness improved significantly. After 1.5 months pain and stiffness came back. No positive result. Pain stiffness became unbearable.
3. ADFRAR(admilab) Injection - No improvement. Right Ankle became swelled.
Jan 2020
1.CT scan revealed Inflammtory Bowel Disease in abdomen. But there was no history and symptoms never shown.
2. REMICADE Infusions - No improvement.
3. On 28th April, diagonsed with uveitis in eye
3rd June -TOFACITNIB started.
1. Initial Dose- 10 mg - Pain and stiffness improved significantly. Pain came back after 1.5 months.
2. Increased Dose(15 mg) - 21 july
3. increased dose(20 mg) - 7 october.
current - Pain in my left buttock. Right ankle is swelled even after 10 months. Unable to put weight on my left leg.
steroid Injection -
Right ankle - 3 inj.(No improvement at all)
Right knee - 3 inj. (improvement but sometime pain is there)
Right hip - 2 inj(improved)
left hip - 2 inj(Presently pain is there)
Remicade infusion 4 doses taken each time 300mg from jan to april but no improvement shown then antibody test taken n came to know that remicade not effective due to its antibody made in the body.
Sir right now its too much pain in hip ankle n knee joint even he cant walk with the help of stick.from the last year he is using stick.
Is the science fail beyond this????
