On the Wrist, from off the Cuff: Hirsch - Pure, An EXCELLENT, often overlooked, Premium Rubber Strap

- On this episode we review a great aftermarket rubber strap option from Hirsch. Their model dubbed the 'Pure' is a simple yet premium caoutchouc replacement strap option that screams both quality and versatility. For the purpose of the review I've featured it on my lovely Seiko SRPB07J1 to highlight how pairing it to the right watch can take a simple vintage field/pilot inspired piece and turn it into a super capable and modern ware, that make a great everyday option

Totally agree! I've had a black Hirsch Pure for over a year now. I've even thrown it on my 38mm Hamilton Intra-matic. While some might balk at the idea of a rubber strap on the likes of the Intra-matic, it serves well as a "dress" rubber when I've traveled with the watch and don't want to worry about sweat, light water, etc. Bottom line, very versatile strap.
Great review, Mark! This reminds me of the strap my MKII Cruxible came on. Bill was subbing in the black rubber, due to a shortage in the standard leather option. I'm so glad I got it, because the rubber has turned out to be more versatile and better in bad weather. I had thought all rubber straps were like the cheaper Seiko stuff - boy was I wrong! Super comfortable and always looks clean and sleek. I think it's a thinner mill than this one, but it's very well finished. I'd love to see more MKII stuff on your channel. Bill makes great watches.
Got this strap on order. Great pairing man. The plain rubber makes that watch pop.
I have this same watch and I thrown the original and paired with a Hirsch Black strap stitched with red color thread which suits with the second hand tip. Nice watch to wear. Well I paid retail in Barcelona €300.
This Hirsch natural rubber strap is incredible. I used a $250 Rubber B on a Rolex. While the Rubber B was model specific and had more engineering, the Hirsch is nothing short of a home run for one third the price. I have the Hirsch on a Grand Seiko SBGA229 spring drive diver and it really works as looks great. The structural integrity is far beyond the $25.00 silicone straps. The finish and fit are in keeping with what anybody would want including the stainless steel buckle. I have a Parmigiani chronograph on a Hermès deployant that I am going to fit with this Hirsch strap if the lug width permits. This strap is a real find for those of us who are adverse to metal bracelets and like the industrial look of black rubber.
I just got a black 22mm Pure for a Seiko turtle. It sure is nice. It seems hard to find a good plain rubber strap without any patterns like this one.
It's a simple watch design, but I really like it. The strap is a great pairing too!
I have the srpb67j1. Essentially the same watch. My favorite piece I own. Really overlooked piece. Hirsch is overlooked at times too. I've had a Hirsch Duke Leather, great quality for the price. Good vid!
Ha. I have the same watch (Presage model) but with the Champagne dial. Never remember the exact code. All of them are really nice simple and well sized pieces yet really quite rare to find. Got it for a steal new too!
@@naycnay the champagne dial is beautiful too! Great choice :) and yup they’re hard to find and I paid only $190 new for mine so it was a steal. Beautiful watch and a steal at the price. Wear yours in good health!
Just bought a Laco Aachen and this is a strap I am considering. I also have the Joseph Bonnie Tropic in khaki colour coming but that's silicone and I would not mind a natural rubber one in black so this might just be it to rotate with.
That color math is spot on
Try the Barton Silicon bands they are cheaper, nicely textured, come in many different colors and also have quick release bars.
I have thanks and agree that are good ;)
I've owned Barton silicone straps. They are very nice straps, available in a large number of colors and with a handy quick-release mechanism. But in terms of quality, they really don't compare to the Hirsch rubber, but the big difference in price reflects that
@@TruckeeDoggo totally agree, as I am writing this reply I'm wearing my SKX on a Barton silicone, Hirsch rubber is way better.
Barton makes a pretty nice rubber
tropical style strap now, too.
Just bought this band, put on my Muhle Glashutte and it looks great, no quick release though…
The most value anyone got from this video is quality time and b-roll with a watch we can’t get our hands on. Jk. I just ordered a Hirsch strap and I’m excited to put it on my skx
When I google the seiko srpb071 this watch does not come up. What exactly is this called?
SRPB07J1
Average Bros thanks I realized it was not 71 rather 7J1. Man this is hard to find now days.... :(
At the moment I have this on a brown Italian leather Vario strap. Imported it from Italy 2 years ago. This watch made it difficult to buy any of Seiko's new overpriced hardlex stuff with Pressage on it.
What size is the Hirsch Pure strap? Thanks
They have it in different sizes. Look at their website. If a retailer doesn't specify the length ask them.
Sounds like "On Cinema at the Cinema"
austrian made 100% true rubbber and no vanilla scent like the half ass bonetto straps with nitrile rubber
