Great tip on the Roasted Tomatoes, that's ALL I use now when cooking ;) I roasted my tomatoes before making a huge batch of sauce to freeze for the year :) NO need for sugar this year~! Roasting the tomatoes really brought out the sweetness in the tomatoes, well worth the time and effort~

I make a very similar recipe but I use ground turkey and also add cubes of roasted butternut squash or sweet potato as well. I sometimes add a bit of cinnamon and cocoa to give it a deep rich flavour. I love your videos and have been watching you for a while. So I made the chili the first time last nigtht and was hoping my husband would like it with all the spices. He LOVED it!!!! Ate 3 bowls....... I did add 2 Tbs of brown sugar and a can of Bushes Chili Red Beans. Very good, thank you Lisa

I saw the video 3 hours ago. I went to get all the ingredients that I need. Now is 6:15 pm Monday 21, and just an hour I cooked this delicious "Chili con Carne !!! HOOO my good !!! It's so good!! This chili looks delicious 😋. I made two different versions with what I had at home. I didn't have bacon, I use ground turkey instead of ground beef. I grilled up some tomatoes. I used black beans on one and I used lentils and another to substitute beans. They were both delicious! Glad I subscribed. I will continue to follow you and make your recipes. Thank you!

I’m sitting here eating my homemade when I discovered this video. I used no salt added kidney beans and ground up sirloin steaks that were on sale. All other ingredients were identical to this one and it turned out awesome. Even chopped up an avocado on top and it was delicious!!!

It is really good I had a bit of a problem I didn’t have the beef broth but I substitute it with chicken broth one and a half cups and a half a cup of red wine and worked out really well thanks for your menu

I made this chili for my meal prep this week and it was so delicious!! Chili just keeps getting better day after day. I usually make chili with turkey but this time I decided to use beef because your recipe had that and it was much hardier with the beef. I ended up using my smoked paprika in this and yum! Super recipe Lisa! Here’s a variation you might like: substitute one bottle of not-super-hoppy beer for the broth. I like Newcastle Brown Ale or Modelo Negro. The beer gives an undefinable but yummy taste!
I seriously love you! I just made this while having your video play on repeat and it came out perfect. (Didn’t even have to pull out the directions, your that good) I followed your directions almost exactly, just added a can of diced green chilies, some red pepper flakes, and a little cayenne pepper with the spices. I love soup! The first soup I ever made from scratch was potato soup. I was watching Julia Child on PBS-fyi an original episode before cable and the internet were a thing LOL. it was 😋 yummy. Her recipe called for leeks and in those days that was not something I was familiar with nor was it a regular at the supermarket (I was young and my mother did not cook a lot) so I just used onion. I have since tweaked the recipe by adding carrot and celery and occasionally making it a cheesy version. I never did try it cold, sorry can’t spell vichyssoise. LOL!
That's another winner recipe among many others will try adding bacon to the mix I use yellow and red peppers and a tablespoon of dried cilantro and dried parsley for sweet and hot and add red pepper flakes for more a kick the rest is pretty much the same and mixed assorted beans Thanks for your version!! The use of bacon,onions,and garlic looks like a headliner for many other types of stews,soups and casserole preps!!

Wow, finally someone cooking chili with the same sautéed steps as I was taught from my Mom 50 years ago....this works, however...I use 2 large cans of whole tomatoes...where you end up with some large silky chunks of quality tomatoes in final product..

This truly was the best chili that I have created. It wasn't difficult to make, it didn't require many things to be prepared / chopped. I also added some unsweetened corn to the kidney beans and the result was amazing. Thank you Lisa!

Super recipe Lisa! Here’s a variation you might like: substitute one bottle of not-super-hoppy beer for the broth. I like Newcastle Brown Ale or Modelo Negro. The beer gives an undefinable but yummy taste!

I seriously love you! I just made this while having your video play on repeat and it came out perfect. (Didn’t even have to pull out the directions, your that good) I followed your directions almost exactly, just added a can of diced green chilies, some red pepper flakes, and a little cayenne pepper with the spices. This will definitely be my go to chili recipe for years to come. Thank you for all of your amazing content 🙏🏻♥️

I love soup! The first soup I ever made from scratch was potato soup. I was watching Julia Child on PBS-fyi an original episode before cable and the internet were a thing LOL. it was 😋 yummy. Her recipe called for leeks and in those days that was not something I was familiar with nor was it a regular at the supermarket (I was young and my mother did not cook a lot) so I just used onion. I have since tweaked the recipe by adding carrot and celery and occasionally making it a cheesy version. I never did try it cold, sorry can’t spell vichyssoise. LOL!

That's another winner recipe among many others will try adding bacon to the mix I use yellow and red peppers and a tablespoon of dried cilantro and dried parsley for sweet and hot and add red pepper flakes for more a kick the rest is pretty much the same and mixed assorted beans Thanks for your version!! The use of bacon,onions,and garlic looks like a headliner for many other types of stews,soups and casserole preps!!

Wow, finally someone cooking chili with the same sautéed steps as I was taught from my Mom 50 years ago....this works, however...I use 2 large cans of whole tomatoes...where you end up with some large silky chunks of quality tomatoes in final product..
