This is a traditional African-American gospel song that has a couple different names, and it does go to 12 normally. Home Free and Kenny Rogers killed it. I think it's also categorized as a children's song but it just amazing. Great reaction. I don't want Home Free week to end. i hope it's just starting. Fishin in The Dark/Boondocks Mashup. Edit: Just seen it is Day 1 🤦♀
I wonder if this was a way to teach counting and Bible stories to children like The Twelve Days of Christmas was a way to teach Bible catechism rules to children a long time ago. It would make sense. Or it could be a "call and response" song common to the slaves in the pre-Civil War south.
Absolutely LOVED your reaction! You had me smiling throughout the whole video! Can't wait for this week! Meet in the Middle is fun and has a creative video, shot in quarantine. Also, their cover of End of the Road is phenomenal!
The completely modernized southern gospel vibe, the brilliant key changes, and the sheer talent makes me want to jump and dance every time. I know it’s supposed to be a Christmas song, but who cares? Love this song. Love your reaction.
I just came across your reaction.I love your enthusiasm. I hope this finds you and all of yours well and happy . Thank you for making my day. Home Free is the best and I can't believe they don,t have a recording contract with some big wig company.
Hahaha! You were so fun/funny and great dancing too! You pretty much got it. If you didn't go to private school or study all the New Testament where Jesus sent out his disciples and all into parts of the world to preach about Him, it's hard to know this song's meaning. But it's more put together sort of all pieces of the gospel mashed together to come up with one awesome song! And man did these six men do an incredible, incredible job! LOVE Home Free, LOVE Kenny!! Thanks and take care. (PS: Oh yes, also about Tim's voice, yes, it's really something. And at their live shows -- been to six so far -- he also leads out in the talking and there's quite a bit of times that voice is booming deep and low. So he's super funny too. Like stand-up comedy with talented great singing to go with it!! You leave the shows super happy!)
Their newest cover of God Bless the USA, with Lee Greenwood and the Air Force, Singing Sergeants. In these time, is a good one to check out. And Folsom Prison Blues, but don't let your GF listen. Tim drops it into the basement. Great reaction, Sir
When you got to Tim’s bass. Lol! Let me tell you... that 5 octave range... even his speaking voice. Yep. He’s happily married. Yep. He’s young enough to be my kid. But that voice ... guard your girlfriend. Or as Nick Lachey said one the Sing Off... “Man the bass gets all the ladies. “ 🤣
Kenny heard about them because his son's teacher played the song in class and his son ran back to him and shared a Home Free video with him and he was hooked. I went to one of his live concerts after this collab and he played this version and sang along to it.
Cannot go wrong with any of their music!! Their quarantine videos are really good especially since they are done apart from each other..Meet in the middle is one of my favorites.. great reaction btw!
It's old enough that there's like a *gazillion* different versions, with different words, and different lists. Usually the same killer melody, though. So any list they chose and any words they went with are more or less fair play. I think they did as many as they felt like, myself, and quit when They and Kenny said, "Hell, yeah, sounds about right." And it's one of my favorites of their stuff, just because they had so much fun with it. I'm glad you did, too.
Ive watched this at least twenty times all up.Kennys childs teacher mentioned homefree and told him to check it out.He loved them so he looked them up for a collaboration. Thanks for a fun reaction .❤
Sweetie, it's like I always told my late husband...I never cared where he got his appetite as long as he had supper at home. Let your girl listen to the bass. You will reap the rewards!
I don't know what this song is about, but Kenny was an amazing artist!! HomeFree is also amazing, but Kenny is the star of this video!! He will be heard decades from now! And I am a HomeFry!
I grew up singing this is Sunday School. It’s about God’s commandment to go out and share the Gospel and good news of Jesus Christ, being and building disciples of Christ.
Have seen them 3 different times. When Tim hits those low notes, you can feel the vibrations deep im your chest. Adam the beat boxers solos are absolutely brilliant.
Welcome to the Home Fries (the Home Free squad)!!! You have to do their covers of End of the Road, The Butts Remix, Man of Constant Sorrows, What We Ain’t Got... that’s just a few to start you off on. Plus if you like gospel do their covers of Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Are.
I loved your reaction so much, that I just subscribed. So now you only need to more subscribers to hit your goal of 3. lol! I am a huge fan of Home Free and have been for years. There's not one song, or video that has disappointed me, yet. They can do it all from Pop, Rock, Country, Gospel, and even Motown. Their quarantine series they've been doing since the pandemic hit, is some of the best and most creative stuff I've seen from them. Not that the others weren't great, because they are. But to be able to put these video's together from their respective homes and have them turn out so good, tells you just how talented they are. Thank you! I look forward to seeing more of your reactions in the future.
Elvira feat. The Oak Ridge Boys, Man of Constant Sorrow, Ring of Fire feat. Avi Kaplan, The Gambler, and God Bless the USA feat. Lee Greenwood and The US Air Force Band. All great Home Free songs.
New Subscriber! I think you are officially my favorite new Home Free reactor! I see the same joy in you that I feel when I listen to anything they sing. I'm looking forward to more, LOVED the way you got into the song!
Loved your reaction, made me smile. I haven’t found a Home Free song yet that I didn’t like but recommend In the Blood, Elvira, All About that Bass, How Great Thou Art, Helplessly Hoping, Country Fried Pop Medley, Mayday, Moonshine, Quarantine, Folsom Prison Blues. Maybe you need to do a Home Free month 😁
Home Free music... Ring of Fire ( cover of Johnny Cash), End of the Road (cover Boys to Men), Mayday, Honey I am Good, Auld Lang Syne, In the Blood, Good old Country Harmony (ordinal) O Brother Where Art Thou,
The only other version of this song which is just aa amazing occurred on one IJohnny Cash's Christmas specials where he sang thus with legends Roy Orbisin Carl Perlins, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Statler Brothers and members of the Carter family. So, Home Free and Kenny Roger's aa another country and pop legend knocked it out of the oak with their rendition of How Shall I Send Thee. Great reaction to such talent.
Thank you for reacting to more Home Free, and I'm definitely looking forward to a week of these guys. You've had a lot of great suggestions, so I won't add to them, but just so you are aware, there will almost certainly be a new song released on Friday - they've been bringing out a new one every two weeks since April.
Great reaction!! New subscriber. The Home Free rabbit hole is deep - you won’t be disappointed. Some for consideration this week: their latest Folsom Prison Blues, End of the Road, Can’t Stop the Feeling, Blue Ain’t Your Color, and Everybody Walking This Land (watch to the end), Man of Constant Sorrows, Hillbilly Bone and I Cant Outrun You just for starters.
Just Found you tonight & working through your videos now because I really appreciate how you enjoy abs appreciate new and different artists. This group is one of my favs & you can’t really go wrong with them. For some amazing vocal gymnastics with them if interested: Mayday, In the Blood & End of the Road covers.
New sub! I’d love to see you react to Home Free‘s cover of “End of the Road” - the bearded guy (Rob) sings lead and I KNOW you’ll love it. Also, “Folsom Prison Blues” for some below-the-basement bass notes, “Everybody Walkin’ This Land” because it’s EPIC, “Moonshine” because it’s fun, and “Butts Remix” because it’s freaking hilarious and awesome. Before you know it, you’ll be a Home Fry! Just do me a favor and watch at least ten videos before you tackle “Mayday”.
The "children go..." is a lyrical homily paralleling Jesus sending out the 12 Apostles. The different situations reference difference stories & parables from the Bible.
This is an old bluegrass gospel song that gave us a counting song + Bible story memorization, I grew up on this song back in the 60s! (This is actually a children's song.)
I know I’m late to the party but you should react to Voiceplay- they are another acapella group. They did a cover of Oogie Boogie’s song and it is FANTASTIC. The singer playing Oogie Boogie is a bass singer who goes real high and real low!
Any of their songs are awesome, however, please wait on Mayday (it is very popular) but you will appreciate it more with several videos under your belt. In The Blood written by John Mayer is good one. Misty Mtn with Peter Hollens is jaw dropping, definitely make sure your girlfriend is gone. It only features Tim (bass) from HF, however HF and Peter do collabs on other songs which are worth listening to as well. Don't miss Butts Remix and Hillbillybone (along with the other songs Home Fries [fans of Home Free] have recommended as we know our guys well, and every comment is worthy of reading.) Welcome to the World of Home Free, we love good reactors who like HF. I am sure more will come. Very enjoyable reaction so a new sub, looking forward to the week.
Love Train, We Just Disagree, cover Sold by John Michael Montgomery, their cover of Folsom Prison Blues, Lets Get it On, Butts Remix. Tim goes sub-bass. Do You Hear What I Hear Thee really shows it
Love your reaction! Home Free is really good singing every genre so you can’t go wrong even is it’s “not your thing.” As an example try “End of the Road” by Boyz 2 Men
This is a traditional African-American gospel song that has a couple different names, and it does go to 12 normally. Home Free and Kenny Rogers killed it. Interesting fact that that it goes to 12 !!!
Nobody will ever sing it like Sydny Portier in "Lillies of the Field"
I wonder if this was a way to teach counting and Bible stories to children like The Twelve Days of Christmas was a way to teach Bible catechism rules to children a long time ago. It would make sense.
Or it could be a "call and response" song common to the slaves in the pre-Civil War south.
Absolutely LOVED your reaction! You had me smiling throughout the whole video! Can't wait for this week! Meet in the Middle is fun and has a creative video, shot in quarantine. Also, their cover of End of the Road is phenomenal!
You will not be disappointed in any of the Home Free songs. They do cross over from country so you have a variety to choose from.
Soooo exciting love them thus was, absolutely incredible beautiful amazing reaction thanku love an God bless x

I love good acapella. Groups like Home Free and Pentatonix are so talented.
Their newest cover of God Bless the USA, with Lee Greenwood and the Air Force, Singing Sergeants. In these time, is a good one to check out.
And Folsom Prison Blues, but don't let your GF listen. Tim drops it into the basement.
Great reaction, Sir
I still love the Mt Rushmore version.Adams airdrums add to their class act.🙂
I don’t know which I enjoyed more, their fantastically wonderful song or your fantastically wonderful reaction!! 😊
Yea!!! A week of Home Free! My favorites... Meet in the Middle, Summer in the Country, Good Ol Boy Good Time, Do You Hear What I Hear... Thanks!!!
Total fun song. They sing this at Christmas and it's so much fun to watch. Thanks! ^_^
Welcome to the Home fries fan pack
When you got to Tim’s bass. Lol! Let me tell you... that 5 octave range... even his speaking voice. Yep. He’s happily married. Yep. He’s young enough to be my kid. But that voice ... guard your girlfriend. Or as Nick Lachey said one the Sing Off... “Man the bass gets all the ladies. “ 🤣
Thank u for making my laugh so hard hahaha
Great reaction. Loved it. Gonna subscribe.....Love Home Free....Thanks.. God bless and stay safe
MY MANS FOUND HOME FREE 👀🔥👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 These dudes are one of if not my favorite A Capella groups I’ve heard
Kenny heard about them because his son's teacher played the song in class and his son ran back to him and shared a Home Free video with him and he was hooked. I went to one of his live concerts after this collab and he played this version and sang along to it.
Good Ole Country Harmony is a great song that was written by there bass singer Tim Foust. Its a really good song.
Cannot go wrong with any of their music!! Their quarantine videos are really good especially since they are done apart from each other..Meet in the middle is one of my favorites.. great reaction btw!
Please do two of their songs.....HOW GREAT THOU ART & DIVE BAR SAINTS !!
It's old enough that there's like a *gazillion* different versions, with different words, and different lists. Usually the same killer melody, though. So any list they chose and any words they went with are more or less fair play. And it's one of my favorites of their stuff, just because they had so much fun with it. I'm glad you did, too.
You like Rob (big guy, with glasses)? You need to react to their cover of End of the Road. He's the lead on it & I think you'll be surprised.

Well that’s it !!my Sundays service!! Haha ❤️Tennessee
I grew up singing this is Sunday School. It’s about God’s commandment to go out and share the Gospel and good news of Jesus Christ, being and building disciples of Christ.
My Church by Home free
Have seen them 3 different times. When Tim hits those low notes, you can feel the vibrations deep im your chest. Adam the beat boxers solos are absolutely brilliant.
Hopefully you add their “Country Fried Pop Medley “ to your reactions this week, it’s super fun and really shows how versatile they are!
It references us all being God's children and following his direction.
More Home Free!!! Man of Constant Sorrow, Butts Remix, Everybody Walking This Land! WooHoo 🙌 subbed :)
One of my favorite groups to listen to. Good choice just saw this after your George Strait week.
I am not sure if I have more fun watching you or watching these guys. You for sure make every song enjoyable for sure
ok yessir! 1) Elvira [feat. the oak ridge]; 2) Blue ain't your color; 3) You are my sunshine; 4) Ring of Fire 🙂🤗👌
Home Free has not done You Are My Sunshine. Maybe you are thinking of The Hound + The Fox?
@@elkrain9546 aahhh sorry , yes I messed up😅.. 'tis by Music Travel Love ua-cam.com/video/2nY2BoXNQoA/v-deo.html 💗 ..thank you for notifying 👍

One of your 🎵"three new subscribers" 🎵-- perfect improvised line! Your reaction is on the top of my favorites.
Yes. The ladies love the bass.
New Subscriber! I think you are officially my favorite new Home Free reactor! I see the same joy in you that I feel when I listen to anything they sing. I'm looking forward to more, LOVED the way you got into the song!

I love your reactions. You really enjoy it and it shows.
So a little known fact, this was a way to teach children to count and to teach them about the bible also.
HE'S CALLED JESUS HELLO !
You done good. Love your enthusiasm!
There are some versions sung by other groups that do go up to 12.
Look up the gospel group The Fairfield Four ... they did this year’s ago! One of my Home Free favorites! Loved your reaction!🎶😂🎵🎵🎶
End Of The Road and then for fun and laughs, check out Butts Remix
The "children go..." is a lyrical homily paralleling Jesus sending out the 12 Apostles.

Tim Faust is the bass, he has blown out sound systems
FOUST
Sherry Palmer auto correct
Thanks for telling me that! I've been wondering why I see it spelled wrong so many times
Maday
Man of Constant Sorrow
Ring of Fire
Elvira
All very good songs of theirs, and many more
I know I’m late to the party but you should react to Voiceplay- they are another acapella group. They did a cover of Oogie Boogie’s song and it is FANTASTIC. The singer playing Oogie Boogie is a bass singer who goes real high and real low!

No need to worry about Tim. His wife is a beautiful young lady...
lol! I enjoyed your reaction just SO much! And you got the verses too! Well done, dude. :-) Have subscribed so I can follow along on your journey :-)
❤❤❤❤
Love Train, We Just Disagree, cover Sold by John Michael Montgomery, their cover of Folsom Prison Blues, Lets Get it On, Butts Remix. Tim goes sub-bass. Do You Hear What I Hear Thee really shows it
It's about the Bible and the children is all of us that God chose to send in the world to do is calling.
Try The Oakridge Boys , great bass, great harmonies.
I was gonna say that! Such a good group!
Ah, she might melt when she hears When A Man loves a woman. Yup you're toast. Young man. 😁
Love your reaction! Home Free is really good singing every genre so you can’t go wrong even is it’s “not your thing.” As an example try “End of the Road” by Boyz 2 Men
New Sub! Thank you for reacting to Home Free!! You would love their cover of Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling"
End of the road and Blue ain't your color got to be in the week
Please do The End of the Road and Mayday!! You will not be disappointed!! But every song they do is really amazing!!
Talking 12 days of Christmas, home free, as we get closer to the holiday a check out straight no chaser.
🤣😂😂 I’d lose my girlfriend
HE IS TALKING ABOUT ARCHANGELS ANGELS CHERUBIMS AND ALL THE HEAVENLY ANGELS
Go children is a reference to Jesus Christ after His resurrection. The disciplines were to preach the good news.
I love the Home Free!!!!! Tim has those panty dropping notes.
You are Too funny...Tim (sexy voiced Bass) is Married...&, she’s a darlin little blonde 💖🙃‼️
As much as you like Rob you really need to react to End of The Road. Rob kills it!
Go where I send thee... its in the gospels where Jesus sends out his people out to preach... That is how I understand it
Thinking Oud Loud/lets get it on you wont be sorry
They are talking about Jesus said to go and tell people about him and we are his children if we are Christians
Great reaction!!! My guess is that 12 verses would be far too long for a standard song/video.
