While editing this video I researched a bit and it seems like most of the songs in this video are Iskelmä style (popular songs, a lot with a folk twist to it). Perhaps music that is very popular in Finland but not well known in other countries. Well, it was great anyways, and we will sleep less stupid tonight, lol!

Also, they specifically used songs that are IN Finnish and most metal bands here sing in English.

Iskelmä or schlager music refers in general to all traditional pop music to which pairs can dance to (waltz, tango, salsa Etc.) There's also some genres included, which derives from folk music or have folk elements; like jenkka, which is a Finnish version of chottische and humppa, which combines jazz and fast foxtrot. This jenkka song might be familiar to you: "Colin Watt Letkajenkka". As might be the original song of this humppa version: "Eläkeläiset - Hump (Jump)". Quite a few of those songs on the list are originally foreign songs (Italian, Greek, Swedish Etc.) performed with Finnish lyrics and arrangements. Explains partly why the songs are allover the place. You also picked the humorous side correctly, because there's quite a few songs with humorous lyrics. Maybe this ("Nylon Beat - Rakastuin mä looseriin") sounded familiar to you, because K-pop versions has been made from it: "[STATION] aespa 에스파 'Dreams Come True' MV". Finland is known for metal music-also for folk and classical music-but metal isn't the most popular genre in Finland. It's the genre, which bands tend to sing in English, unlike most others do. Finnish language has traditionally created a language barrier for Finnish artists and bands to break abroad. That might be changing, though, as E.g. Käärijä's popularity shows. The most influential Finnish band is probably Hanoi Rocks: "Hanoi Rocks- Dont' You Ever Leave Me (Music Video)".

"Iskelma" is Finnish music genre, that's why songs hasn't changed much. They are picked to video based to iskelma genre.

Schlager (Iskelmä) music is listened to a lot in Finland. Especially among the older age group, but nowadays also among younger people to an increasing extent. You can go and listen and dance to it on the spot. At the same time, it is a social event where you see friends and get to know new ones. Maybe even find a spouse. And Dancing is also hard exercise and practicing body coordination.

Not all of these are iskelmä (Schlager music). There's also pop music, rock music and so on. I think it's just one big radio hit from every year.

I wass surprised that there was no song called OLEN SUOMALAINEN - by Kari Tapio ? This is a song that every Italian knows as - IL solo Italiano by TOTO ! Not too many know The Italian - in Finland - ( except Pizza ) but their music is quite popular... as they most sing only in Italian !

Thank you!! This is quite slim take on Finnish music but the the video would become really long if it had included more songs. This video really was more about one style.
This one is also a good one. It shows the evolution of Finnish rock through out the years.
    ua-cam.com/video/G_lz8-wUMk4/v-deo.html
the tittle of the video translates to "The Evolution of Finnish rock - 100 rock songs with one take"
There is a band playin all the songs and they really did it with one take.
Finland is known for their metal bands. Metal and rock is also very popular in Finland. The most famous Finnish band that is also known through out the world is a Symphonic metal band called Nightwish. I recommend watching their performances at one point :)

This and others similars music sum ups consist way too short examples (3-4 sec) to really know anything about those songs. It's a shame. Look Dave Lindholm and song called "pieni ja hento ote" or Topi Sorsakoski for any song.
