Jennifer, I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad. I've been a lifelong fan of The King Sisters, The King Cousins and the entire King Family. I only recently discovered your UA-cam channel and I can't tell how much joy I get from watching the videos, many of which I remember when they were first broadcast on the family TV show. Ric was always one of my favorites with his movie star good lucks, great singing voice and easy charm. Upon learning of his passing it was like recently re-connecting with an old friend only to have him suddenly taken away. I've watched the video of him surprising Alyce at Christmas time, while on leave from the service, several times and it's really tough to watch without some tears. My parents took me and my sister and our younger brother to see the King Family in concert here in Chicago. I'm probably close to Ric's age now and both my parents and younger brother are gone now leaving just my sister and me. I would have loved to share your videos with them for a trip down our family's memory lane. I can't watch this video yet but just wanted you to know how many fond memories I have of your family(as if I knew everyone personally) and how much joy they brought to my family. Again, my condolences to you and your family and everyone who loved Ric.

I too spoke at my father's memorial service. When I got up from the pew, approached the podium and looked up facing the congregation, I was shocked to see how many people were there. At 6'6 and Paul Newman blue eyes, he was always a charmer and had charmed many people. Even though he always meant what he said at the moment, he rarely could back that up. It was nice, although I am sure, it was difficult to share your stories. You probably have a ton more. Sharing stories is a wonderful way to keep the memory of our loved ones visable in our hearts when we can no longer reach out and touch them. God Bless you and your family.

That was a truly lovely tribute to your dad. I'm struck by your description of the man he was and how, even though I only knew him through television and video, its seems that he was exactly the person I imagined he was in real life. We watch The King Family holiday specials every year, and every year I cry when he comes out in his uniform and surprises his mom. This year, I'll probably shed a few extra tears. Hey comments about your father was really touching. I know how hard it was for you, because I had to do that for my own father's funeral over 30 years ago. But your father had a great voice and a look when he sang that I consider him almost a soul brother. So I'm not going to use the same cliche as most people do but I'll keep you in my prayers and the whole King family because they brought joy into my life and still do.
