This felt too short, how does the shield interact with cover for example? e.g. if 2 hits and a crit land against that unit in heavy cover, can the shield cancel a crit, allowing heavy cover to swallow the two hits? I know it will be clear in the rules, but seems like there are a few scenarios that shield can be applied to unless I have misunderstood.

it's worth noting, that if you are playing Iden and ID10 and you have medical droids, and Iden is shot and you use her shield token and assign a wound to ID10, you can then treat iden with one of your medical droids, and you can choose to restore ID10 to the unit if you treat it in the same round. When this happens, ID10's shield token comes back into play face-up
Worth saying shield can block crits too!

I cant remember, do you get the shield back at the end of turn?
not if you use it. The only way to get the shield token back is with another keyword - for example, Generator 1 or Recharge 1
Generator is automatic, Recharge requires a recover action.
