    Congrats Belmo, enjoy your management of the game, taking what the lanes will give you, understanding your equipment. Mind boggling. Oh, to be that young again to have the flexibility, strength and balance. Really fun watching you win. Great respect for all you pros as you grind it out.

    That’s the difference of Belmo with the other pros on when to take the reracks, the other pros ask the rerack right after the shot while Belmo wait for at least 15secs to ask for it. That to buy some more time and let his opponent to stay longer on their seats

  • @Ironfangzu
    @Ironfangzu 2 роки тому +7

    EJ lost because he got a stone 9 pin that wouldn't go down. He has ridiculous scary pin carry but on TV this kind of thing seems to happen to him a lot. Belmo seemed relatively locked in though. Hard to beat Belmo when he has it going.

    • @dijigo1587
      @dijigo1587 2 роки тому +6

      Belmonte missed the pocket just once, and paid full price with an open frame. EJ missed three times, two of those right through the face, that could have easily been unmakeable splits. The stone 9 pin is not why he lost. I really wanted EJ to win, but he wasn't the better "bowler" here.

    • @charles6724
      @charles6724 2 роки тому +3

      gotta agree with DijiGo. EJ's was left of target in the 5th frame, through the nose but got an easy 8 count, he was left of target again in the 7th frame but caught a break and got a strike. Btw, Belmo struck twice in the 8th & 9th to stay in range and could get a max score of 254 to EJ's 278. In hindsight, what Tackett should have done in the 9th is take a re-rack and really make sure to throw a good shot because he was in the driver's seat. But his ball speed was a tad fast and placement a tad right giving him an 8 count. That's three consecutive times he threw poor shots. I love EJ's talent, but if he had sensed that he had gotten multiple breaks and just taken his time in the 9th to throw a good shot hammering the pocket and struck, the stone 9 wouldn't have mattered in the 10th. With a strike in the 9th and a 9-spare in the tenth, he shoots 257 and Belmo can't get up and beat him. The key frame for EJ was the 9th, moreso than the 10th.

    • @jtsax95
      @jtsax95 2 роки тому +1

      You can say that about literally any bowler ever. No matter what you score, you HAVE to wait for your opponent to mess up if you're gonna win.
      Even if you shoot 300. If your opponent shoots 300, then you go to a roll off until one of you messes up. There's no defense in bowling so you have to be lucky to win. Even if you're among the best ever.

      @jtsax95 2 роки тому +1

      @@exesemas my point is that if you think he gets lucky more often, think again. Everyone who wins a step ladder must have things go their way that day.
      Plus you gotta remember he makes more step ladder finals than anyone. WAY more. Do we get to see him bowl in events and on TV finals more than anyone. Which equates to more opportunities to watch him get lucky.
      My only point here is...
      1. Everyone needs some luck to win.
      2. He isn't "more lucky". He's just bowling in more step ladder finals than anyone and we see him bowl all the time.
      There's been plenty of "unlucky" moments for him in his losses. He wins so much that people tend to forget all the times he's lost in stepladder finals. That's all I'm saying.

    Belmo is great but never will be the 🐐 with the 2-handed style and how much better the equipment is. He’s starting to change my mind but it’s always gonna be a huge factor with us older folks lol.

      Completely understandable. I think it’s very simple. Walter Ray will always be the greatest of the pre 2handed era and belmo will be considered the greatest post 2 handed era. When we start bowling with our feet, that guy will be the next goat. I don’t think it’s fair to compare since Walter Ray didn’t really play much during belmos prime and vice versa.

    These guys are never going to be able to bowl in their 50s, the back won't put up with it with this two hands method

    I wish the trophies didn’t look like actual shit. That’s like a youth league winner trophy.

      At least they don't give out participation trophies, like T-Ball.
