- Koh Lipe is a tiny tropical island located in the Andaman Sea just off the west coast of Thailand. We spent four days on this amazing island, the sky was blue and the water perfectly clear. Here we will show you two of my favourite beaches on the on Koh Lipe; Sunrise Beach, and Sunset Beach... oh and there's a fantastic snorkelling spot to explore here too!

Yeah there are so many amazing secluded Thai Islands: koh bulon, Koh Lipe, Koh Mook, Koh Libong. Next up were going to check out the islands in Myanmar!

Stayed at the exact same place a couple years ago. My bungalow was a couple rows back from yours. I didn't splurge for a beachfront one. This vid makes me wish I did:) Thanks for sharing! I can't wait to get back to that part of the world.

It's a crap hole. Stayed 4 days and never saw clear water. The inner island is a bunch of trashy slums with annoying motor bikes constantly going by. The beaches are covered in trash and boats. Can barely enjoy it. I came in May. Might be clear in high season but low season already had way too many tourists to enjoy.

Koh Lipe is beautiful. I think it would have been easier to go from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi (in Malaysia) which is less than 1 hour flight, then take the speedboat from Kuah Jetty or Telaga Harbour in Langkawi to Koh Lipe which is about 50 minutes - yes you go to immigration on Pattaya Beach - this is what I would have done although I've stayed in Langkawi for 6 nights before I went to Koh Lipe
best snorkelling in Thailand - you must be kidding -I've stayed at Bayview and the snorkelling is just OK!
Twice sailed over from Langkawi to the beautiful Koh Lipe with my family. Stayed onboard couple days and sailed around diving spots. Loved the day shopping in town and night festive scene by the beach. Hope it's still around after covid19. Will go there again.
Looking forward to revisiting Koh Lipe. It became quite popular there before COVID, so hoping the coral reefs and island has had a bit of a chance to recover! Very envious of your sailing trips, something I’d love to do in SE Asia!
How to go there from langkawi? Jeti kuah?

Koh Lipe - yes, it's that beautiful island that sits just north of the Malaysian island of Langkawi. I'd definitely visit Koh Lipe once the COVID-19 restrictions are over. :)

You're doing exactly the same route I will in December. Flying to trang from pai and then koh lipa and koh muk for Xmas! Any tips on NYE in Thailand?
That'll be a great trip, I've got articles on Pai, Koh Lipe and Koh Mook on my website too, I recommend having a read. Koh Chang (in Trat) has probably been my favourite NYE destination in Thailand.

Sunset Beach is public, you don't have to stay there. It feels a lot less developed than Sunrise Beach, you will love it!

Koh lipe used to be the most beautiful island in the world in 2014 when there were almost no tourists there and the beaches were still filled with coral. Now it‘s a place filled with trash, blaring EDM music all night (thanks to the thai mafia) and tons of people.
Hello :) I want to do exactly the same route! But I did not understand why you say there is everything included in that AirAsia Deal (Flight, Bus and Boat) and after that you said then you have to book a van and a speedboat.

Hi Philip, the AirAsia flight to "Sunrise Beach" includes everything - plane, van, and speedboat.
If you fly to Trang or Hat Yai airport only, you still need to arrange your transfers separate.
Which month of the best to visit? If August still good? No rain?
August will be rainy, I usually go to Koh Lipe in October, end of the wet season. When are you planning to go?

Is it necessary to book the van from airport to park bars pier before the flight? Can I just get the service after arrival?
you can book it separately, link for the van is provided in the video description. Just be sure to time this properly with the boat departure though. and #1 enjoy koh lipe!

Quite far from Pattaya. Need a flight, van, and speedboat. If you want a closer island I suggest Koh Chang or Koh Kood
far from pattaya just 900 km.
was there any hassle bringing in the drone?
There are no issues bringing a drone into Thailand, the challenge is properly registering it. I only registered with NBTC and had no problems with police. Have been flying a drone in Thailand many times.

Just watch out for Eletricity in Town or City( in BKK is not permidden:/ i was there this year Oct.-Nov. And u can't fly a drone in BKK.
But at any Island: it is possible^^
Just watch out for Drone-Hunter in the City-> they will crush ur Drone.
Do it near Military or Airport will call a Police :)

I have watched the beginning of the video 5 times to try to understand what's the name of the Airport to get to from BKK so I give up.
Hi luigi! It's Don Mueang Airport in the north of Bangkok. You can book a combo ticket direct to "Sunrise Beach - Koh Lipe" or just the flight to Hat Yai Airport. Hope that helps!

Not really! Bayview Sunset Bungalows is one of the cheaper hotels on Koh Lipe. There's an article on my blog giving a comparison of some great midrange and budget hotels on Koh Lipe

Southeast Asia generally has a problem with oceam trash. This is not made by the island but by people. The larger beaches with hotels nearby are cleaned regularly, smaller more remote beaches do have more trash. If you want to get involved in the clean up, search for Trash Hero Koh Lipe. It's a great way to make a positive difference on your trip 👍👍
I was in that hotel in Kohl lipe and I’m Thai and there was no aircon and the toilet has no wall so no privacy
The bungalows at Castaway Resort have no air conditioner, which is fine for us. The toilet and shower is downstairs (indoors) with an upstairs bedroom. This bungalow is best for a couple, but maybe not a family.

Sorry but I’m here now and it is over crowded and full of plastic litter. Why doesn’t anybody comment about how tourism is ruining all the islands?
Yes, I hear Koh Lipe has become a lot more busy since I last visited. Certainly the downside of tourism (yep as a blogger I suppose I'm part of the issue). Remember that people create the rubbish, not the island, so try to see beyond that. There are plenty of other amazing Thai islands I'm certainly keeping secret to myself. However, the more remote islands often have an even worse ocean trash problem on their beaches, so one of the first things I do is a quick beach clean up with some garbage bags.
I hope people stop doing videos like this, some beauties are better left hidden

Believe me, koh lipe is not good . It's a touristic trap, there are a lot of other islands much better than this. Don't waste your time

@@TheLostPassport hey there, not sure about 2019. As you said during the last years tourism in Thailand exploded. In the past I liked koh yao noi. During high season I wouldn't recommend Thailand at all... ✌️
