This is one of my favorite videos, even if it is old. I used to watch it all the time. I like to sit either right behind the wing (best shots) or in the cockpit (even better).
I flew once from San Juan (Puerto Rico) to LA by American Airlines. Really nice flight! That was a very sunny day in LA and the view was amazing. I dont travel to much to the west coast, but definetly, LA makes it worth it. Nice vid by the way!
What a contrast in weather from LHR to LAX! if had of been the other way around, I would say yeah no surprise there, but to have clear, bright sunny at LHR, then arrive in LAX to overcast, grey and gloomy, defintely wouldn't of expected that!
i totally agree on tht more runways part....a great ideal....always came runnin through my mind aswell....for sure seeing this load of flights heathrow should give it a thought
Ive been in so many flights, especially international long haul routes, that I even lost the count. Moreover, I'm pretty sure thats not a normal procedure during descending. The normal flight doesnt need a speedbraker activation inflight, only at the landing obviously. That pilot was flying faster than what would be expected, doesnt matter the reason why and thats unusual. Take care
You may have flown over Las Vegas on the way in, thats what happened to me. This could be a standard flight path. At night it was very spectacular. I love the contrast between the old world and new. Flying from London to LA can't contrast it better! Nice vid! Ps why did the build Windsor Castle so close to Heathrow Airport?
That is a very long flight! It weighs in at 11 hours and 20 min. on average! Funny if you leave at around 10am in London you will be in Los angeles at around 2:30pm with the time difference!
maybe, but the normal procedure and the great pilots doesnt need to use speedbrakers for the approach and landing procedure (except after touching the runway obviously).
You probably have been on many flight but you don't seem to know a lot about the aerodynamics of an aircraft and how it is affected by the atmosphere.Using speed brake on descent is absolutely normal. A sudden change in wind can force the airspeed of an aircraft to suddenly increase and speed brake will be necessary to remain within speed restrictions. This flight was into LAX....the approaches into LAX are steeper than normal approaches and usage of speed brake may be necessary in most cases.
Is not a so long flight, I know so many flights that is 14:40 hours and more. An example is the flight from Guarulhos to Tel Aviv non stop with the longest Boeing 777-200ER,we have too the Guarulhos-Dubai with the777-200LR and others. Nice vídeo.
very ironic you should say that, if you do many international flights. i myself fly out of the country about 6 times a year, and i have never been on a flight that they didn't use the speed breaks. but hey, i guess the odds were just against us.
At around 4:02 in the vid the spoilers (aka speedbrekes) pop up and you hear the humming noise...Thats the noise I'm talking about. It stops at around 4:40. Definately not the "airsupply from the apu".
Have you been on a long distance flight? Because thats what they do almost every time they are descending. They are usually going a little too fast for one fact that everyone wants to get off, and they have probably been delayed (american airliners*). so the pilot is not stupid.
I don't like going into LAX. I always go into Chicago or Minneapolis or Detroit. The customs are harder to clear because there are so many flights from Asia. But its not that bad as you think
the neagatives are 1. poorer servicve 2. No lounge at airport 3. Wil look poor 4. poorer food fish vs rock lobster 5, Leath seats or comfy ones 6. Best of all we can spend more money! for credit card points

Always in awe over how those wings flew like they do!
When we entered ORD they just send us right on through. But from SCL to MIA was when I encountered drama. BTW we where on a 777 as well...LOVE IT!

Makes me feel as if I'm really on that flight, leaving the UK forever to live in America :)
I remember my CO 777 flights, they all used that procedure to descend
That aeileron hum is so cool! lol
Thank you for your message.

Thank you mate! im going to Toronto soon, will book my flight on 747 :)
look at the extreme flexibility of the 777 wings.
American Airlines PTVs are now on demand. With games and more, its MUCH better!
i just got back from a super long trip.. NBO- PHX
23 hours!!! on the way i ran into a AA 777 and upon thhe decent the plane DROPPED!!
Thank you for your information
ive done an LAX to LHR before, i cant believe it was a 13 hour flight, it went by really fast
great vid mate

Those spoilers looked like they were about to snap upon landing!

wow very nice vid, but how did you manage to film very neat and did'nt move a lot?
THE WING IS THE SAFEST PLACE!!!
Nice what seat was it?
Yes, it's cool.
wow it is like mauritius to Paris on air mauritius
Yes.
that flight goth stall...
actually it does but its for the cockpit's use.
It's crazy to see those wings flex at V1 9rotation), but they have to give-designed to do that, otherwise they would snap off.
Nice. Did the AA 772 have ptv (personal tv's behind each seat)?
I apologize, I mis-spoke. What I meant, if it's even a word is spolier hum I guess. Its the humming noise you hear when the speed brakes pop up.
very nice plane, how long was that flight
que tan buena es la aerolinea ?
es recomendable?
Cool vid.but how long it take to fly from london to LA.?
very ironic you should say that, if you do many international flights.

but hey, i guess the odds were just against us.
how's the food on American airlines??? Im going to fly on AA 777 from Brussells to Chicago this summer... soo excited.

did you have your own personal tv's in the seat back??
Have you been on a long distance flight? Because thats what they do almost every time they are descending. They are usually going a little too fast for one fact that everyone wants to get off, and they have probably been delayed (american airliners*).
so the pilot is not stupid.
well said...
nice vid. i dnt know if this is a dumb question but can a 777 fly non stop from la to london
It's the hostess'voice.
hey! what about personal screens on AA 777's? its touchscreen or just live channels?
It is 11 hours and 30 minutes and it is direct flight.
ok thanks..
I don't like going into LAX. I always go into Chicago or Minneapolis or Detroit. The customs are harder to clear because there are so many flights from Asia. But its not that bad as you think
Sigapore Airlines only had 1 accident because of the poor airpot in Taiwan. The airports fault.
Greetings from Singapore
how long was the flight
how long is a flight from lhr to lax and is it direct flight
how long is the flight from LHR-LAX?
..go airbus
Their 777's do.
yeh the same thing happened to me, but it was from LHR to JFK
That flight is during eleven hours thirty minutes
Does anyone know, if the LHR - LAX with AA is always 777?
GUYS! Which aircraft is better, 777-200 or 747-400?? please let me know. many thanks x.
How long does it take to clear customs and immigration at LAX? I always have this guilty look on my face comming back into the US.
the neagatives are
1. poorer servicve
2. No lounge at airport
3. Wil look poor
4. poorer food fish vs rock lobster
5, Leath seats or comfy ones
6. Best of all we can spend more money! for credit card points
what is that ?
11 hours 30 minutes
why AA 777 wings are always dirty like that i was on one once and the wings have this black marks ...
yep always 777
i went to YYZ via ORD was so so, i think 747-400 is better then 777-200
11-12hrs so you spend half a day in the air.
Its prob 11 1/2 or 12 hours
It's 11 hours thirty
not a gr8 seat tho. i c more wing than outside!
can u record video without getting in trouble
its really small tho
Good video, Next time book first class so people no you are rich like my family.
economy class is for poor people like you!
boeing is american the factory is in Washington state!
transpacific you mean...
hahah that stupid pilot was so fast that he had to activate the speed brakers as we can clearly watch since 4:04...
Is this a genuine advert? Poor production...
Old livery was better
