    Great advice!
My practice is to have a range gun version of my carry gun.
Eg, I have a PX4 Compact in my safe that only goes in and out of the holster.
My range gun is identical , and is only loaded at the range, & checked empty before i leave, i.e. drop the hammer pointed down range, pull the slide back and store it in my range bag.
it’s not a cheap practice, but it definitely reduces handling a loaded gun at home.

Just make sure to get that carry gun out and shoot it sometimes too. I understand your reasoning, but you need to verify and keep a finger on the function of your carry gun probably most of all. The gun you shoot most will "wear in" and have a different feel than the "identical" gun you don't shoot as much. We have two Hellcats for example, purchased at exactly the same time and the same configuration, but I shoot mine way more than my brother shoots his and our triggers now have very different feels to them.
Not a criticism at all, just encouragement. Conceal and Carry on!

@@SplashOfOrange yeah…, it’s good to take it out once in a while, but i don’t put that many rounds through them anymore. i use snap caps a lot with practice, even at the range!

@@terrymoss758 oh yeah, snapcaps and dryfire make for clean and valuable practice that can be done almost anywhere and anytime. Enjoy your PX4s! We have several of them too, my Compact Carry is at LTT now getting their trigger job, trigger bar, np3 spurless hammer, carry levers, and np3 barrel. Can't wait to get it back so I can train with it as much as I have with the Hellcat. The PX4cc in particular and the entire line in general, are fantastic firearms.

Unfortunately, common sense is not that common. Great, practical advice. Thanks
