I am new to this, but not new to Inkscape which I am using to manually create SVGs that will ultimately become patches. Inkscape is free, and pretty easy to learn.
hi Stephanie, I shared your video with someone else on the SewArt facebook group yesterday. Then today I watched your video. ;) I have the same embroidery machine! ;) Really like your video. I have been trying to help with questions of newbies on the facebook site. I have had SewArt and SewWhatPro since about 2009 and now also have SewWrite. One thing I would suggest for an applique patch is to add another die line. (another running stitch). You can duplicate it in SewWhatPro, with copy and paste, then reorder the color stop to stitch in the right order. Or, just stitch the running line again on the material. The first one for a material placement, and the 2nd to sew material, then if you want you could cut away the material close to the outside of the 2nd running stitch. That way when you do the tackdown stitch it will better cover the raw edges, and then the final Satin stitch will completely cover the raw edges, And if you were using tearaway stabilizer, you will get a cleaner patch, just tear away the stabilizer.

What kind of fonts does sewart support? And where can I find the embroidery fonts. I tried regular window fonts but sewart wont open them or cant find them. Thanks

Use your applique scissors. It will give you a much cleaner cut when you want to produce a product for gifts or to sell. I love your patch.
