I have an 18yo Black cat, and my daughter has a 2yo Calico that jumps all over the place... but, on a good day, my old Black Cat will surprise the Calico by jumping from my computer desk over to the bed where the Calico is snoozing, just to shock her & show her he still can do it.
Aw the kitties have to make sure they can complete the jump to the bed ha❤❤😂😂❤😂

Yep, chickened out this time, but next time Pumpernickel is going to do it! Seriously, the rate their agility increases is insane ... one moment they're bobbling along barely able to stand up, and the next moment they're racing across the furniture, bouncing off the walls, and most of all leaping onto the kitchen counter!

Haha, kind of ironic that the last cat was more afraid to jump to the bed than from one pedestal to the next, because I would think that even he has seen that the bed is a softer target, and obviously it's a much bigger target too!

Unlike a lot of fail videos here on UA-cam, pumpernickel knows it's limitations.
I simply couldn't foster, they'd never leave because I wouldn't let them.
Same. I’d love them too much. But in certain cases I might have to make exceptions.
@@e.conboy4286 I know that I couldn't make those exceptions. I have 6 now and 5 of those are rescue.
That's kidnapping, not fostering. In my best "Buffalo Bill" voice. First it brushes it's fur, or it gets the hose again! 😂
Too, in every group of kittens there is always one who is an introvert or at least starts that way. But with time and encouraging love 99% snap out of it quickly. Same goes for people also.😅😻😻😻

Those are the Smartcat Ultimate Scratching Posts (you have to buy the perch separately), and then I glued a piece of carpet sample to the tops. :)
We now know which kitten is smartest. Also, if you can’t even hit the bed when you toss something at it, how can you expect him to risk life and limb?

Cats know their limitations. I have two cats. The younger agile cat can jump upto places like almirah ( 6 feet high) and split ac (8 feet high). But the other fat cat cannot even dream of jumping that high. So he spends his time at terra firma.
Babies
Can you breed cats that won’t jump on anything much above ground level? Could be a popular breed!
Try moving the launch pad two feet closer to the bed so hesitant cat can have a positive experience and practice for longer jump. (Maybe he has hurt hips or something else wrong that tells him he cannot jump.)
Good point and maybe there is an agility problem that should be investigated.
No, he just needed time. He figured it out today, but of course he took me by surprise and I didn't catch him on video. :)

I also leap off the furniture after eating cat meat. This causes havoc at work in an office as it makes me leap over the room dividers onto the neighbours desk.. They usually just tickle my chin and stroke my back and send me back with another can of meat.
