pandemonium spawning and not knowing if your spot is safe or not while doing lockerless is one of the most terrifying feelings you can have playing this game.
The basic formula is “if you can see him, he will see you”. So when hiding in a room with the door opened, it is recommended to stick to somewhere you cannot see the hallway outside. :D
Fun fact. When you take the crystal and get to the keycard door, and open up the door AFTER the keycard door, *hide* in the sidedoor at the keycard area behind the wall while crouched down and facing down with your head. Doing this, you're basically taking advantage of the fact that Pandemonium and Angler and its variants all have a chance to spawn every 1-5 minutes in The Ridge- so you can simply wait here until Pandemonium spawns. Then you simply find safe spots in every single room and play extra safe. Wait in spots until an Angler goes by, follow it, look for a spot, and go back if needed. Repeat this and you will easily get the challenge done.
"Rush-like" enemy spawns in the Ridge aren't triggered by just opening doors? To me it seems more like a room-by-room matter instead of a random 1 to 5 minute cooldown in between each attack.
@@MB-ev9ix Nope. You can see for yourself- hide at the side room against the wall after opening the first door and wait. Within seconds you'll get an angler/pandemonium spawns, and a few minutes after another should occur
@@Alpha-xi9ozi'm a little late but i think that opening door gives a higher chance of spawning an angler. Every 2'nd to 3'rd door if exactly. I apologize for commenting late lol.

I don’t know how NO ONE THAT IVE SEEN has picked this up, but the fake door number panels will have lines going through the bottom of them, it’s 10x faster to see if fake
There's a pretty nice tip for this challenge that almost guarantees a good hiding spot for angler in most straight rooms(aka death traps): since raycasting is wonky, if you crouch and jam yourself between two desks/drawers and look straight down, the raycasting won't detect you and you'll survive(doesn't work for pandemonium though.) The reason your head has to be down is because if it's up, the raycasting will detect your head above the desks and you'll die. Another tip is that in rooms with weird rockfalls, you can sometimes climb to the top of the rockfalls and dodge angler(still won't work for pande though.)
Two more things: 1. I've noticed you never pick up lights from Sebastian's shop(idk if there were any naturally generating ones) but those are extremely helpful for the ridge, especially the flash beacon if you're good with it. 2. Pandemonium can only spawn twice in a run: Once before the ridge, and once during the ridge(at least i believe so i might be wrong on that lol). So if you get a pandemonium spawn in either place, you can safely just use angler spots without worrying about pandemonium ruining your run after that.
@@icebane959 The second fact is true. You can take advantage of Pandemonium's spawn in The Ridge by waiting at the keycard side door after opening Door 101- and simply waiting for it to spawn. Since this is a safe spot for Pandemonium, you can just cheese it like that.
