Right!! I feel like it saved us so much money on groceries because I definitely would not have purchased all of those groceries lol! And right!! Meat is so expensive so this was so nice!
i've seen so many ads and youtubers talk about hello fresh! my friend recently tested it out as well and she liked it but i'm glad you're able to provide an unbiased opinion! the meals you made look so good, especially that spaghetti at the end

I honestly love hello fresh! I love that they have quite a variety of different meals that I wouldn’t think to make. Sometimes it gets pricey but it’s very convenient!

I've ordered a 3 day plan for 2 people last week. And the food is really good and fresh and proportioned out for just the amount you need. I get my 2nd box tomorrow and I am excited.
I get mine this week! First time getting it so will be my first box. I’m excited too and excited to be eating better and meals I enjoy and saving a ton of money too ha! I got two portions and 5 meals a week for me and my daughter and even my 14 year old daughter is excited as she loves meals like this and so do I. I put in a burger and wedges so she could have something a bit normal ha for one meal

Omg I love this Keisha I legit have been using their recipes for years now because my business mind is like okay this company has to make their menu choices with profitability as a big deciding factor. Sooooo the meals are definitely still cost efficient even when going and buying the ingredients. And like you said you want less calories. And my family we have one gluten free and one that needs dairy free so I change them to fit what we want. Hahaha not sure how much they frown upon that but I didn’t put their recipes on the site 🤷🏻♀️😂 regardless I love that you showed the entire process and were able to give your unbiased feedback. I feel like all of us have seen this company for years now and getting to see a REAL LIFE 22 minute review is INCREDIBLY VALUABLE 👏👏👏 thank you for doing this!
Wow the packaging and how everything is so neat is a vibe lol I really don’t like ginger myself honestly because it’s so so strong and I can be picky at times but meal #2 looked really really good like my eyes were like oh snappp haha but meal #1 looked really delicious too! The first time I tried hello fresh I seriously fell in love with it! All of their meals have such good taste and are so easy to put together😋Yum!! I have Hello Fresh and Home Chef and really love them both. I probably only do one box a month but it helps add new recipes to the rotation and get us out of food funks. ❤️

If you put a wet wash cloth under your cutting board it will prevent it from sliding around when you're trying to cut. Also if you avoid using metal utensils on your pots you can prevent them from getting scratched up.

We have been doing 3 meals every other week for months. We really enjoy the meals. They are tasty and portion sizes are fine. We save the recipies and have duplicated some of our favorites.
Do you just cancel and re-sub? Or skip weeks??

Another tip, with the ginger, use a microplane to easily mince the ginger, if you have a cheese grater it's that weird looking tiny hole side that you don't usually use, grate the ginger, super easy
Oh, you can use the microplane again for the lemon, so much fun watching, I have a culinary degree actually
I've always wanted to try Hello Fresh! All the meals you made looked so yummy! My favorite was the Italian chicken over lemon spaghetti **Drools** That's cool that they offer "calorie friendly" meals. Do they have desserts?? 🍰
Yes they have deserts but you have to order as an extra. I’ve added one (2 portions) for me and my daughter. They have brownies, lovely cheesecakes etc and they have other extras like lunch etc. It’s my first time getting it but did my research on the app thoroughly lol
I just signed up for HF. So far I have made two meals. It's good. Variety I needed after making the same meals over and over again

Can’t waiiiitttttt to go back to the US and check out hello fresh! Jealous of you going to CrossFit too lol! Since I am vegetarian I can’t really be like oh my god that looks amazing, but honestly I’m going to because it really does! I’d leave all the meat out but YUM! I agree though, the first one did look like it could use more sauce lol. I love cooking with ginger - especially if you put some in with veggies in the oven to roast, so yum! Ginger in the rice does sound really good! I’m sold on that lemon pasta for sure! Love that you filmed this!
I think there’s a vegetarian option! I actually loved the ginger and definitely need to use it more!
I know another tip 😆, put a damp towel under the knife board to keep it from moving while your cutting, a wobbly knife board can be dangerous, and more importantly cam mess up your knife cuts XD lol
Honestly, we really love Hello Fresh. I like the convenience, the ability to customize your meal plans and hey, since I actually DO know how to cool...really well...I jazz up and calorie DOWN my recipes!
I've found what Hello Fresh calls 1 portion, I see as two! There's always WAY more food than I can eat at one sitting.
(btw: the pics show you how the scallions should be cut...and invest in a decent knife...that serrated steak knife is NOT meant for cooking! OUCH! )
But seriously, Hello Fresh also allows you to skip weeks. I find that really handy!
Here's a trick to peeling ginger: Use the edge of a table spoon. Not a measuring spoon or cooking spoon, just your average table spoon you use to eat with. Just scrape along the "woody" side of the ginger and it peels right off!
If you don't know how to mince, let's just say: It's really super fine chopping.
But please...please...please...do yourself a HUGE favor...INVEST in a decent knife!
I always wanted to try hello fresh! I love grocery shopping and Trader Joe’s is my holy grail but everyone keeps raving about it so I just feel like I have to try it out haha at least for a week! We don’t eat too meat so we would go for the vegetarian one but all of your dishes look so good! Thank you for this review! 💕

my boyfriend and I order out so much we decided to get hello fresh, but some of the meals we have gotten weren't the best thing ive ever had, and some were amazing. I think its really hit or miss

U should put a wet paper towel or damp towel underneath ur cutting board when u chop. It will stabilize ur board. But I love u❤️

I started using it because of corona, so i would not have to go to the supermarket. I order the 3 meals for 2 persons for myself, so i have dinner for the whole week. If i think of meals myself its pretty boring and i just dont want to think too much about what i need to buy. The customer service in my country is also pretty great, fast response and if something is wrong or an ingredient missing, you just get a nice discount on the next box.
That's so smart! I wish that I started using it sooner. It is a great way to spice up your weekly meals!
I tried hello fresh once & loved the recipes! the only thing I didn’t like is that there aren’t any left overs cause I don’t usually like to cook every night!

I have got it hello fresh today I never done it before starting to cook tomorrow try something new
I tried it this service the last couple weeks. For somebody who is already an avid cook, I find it not as useful and cost effective. Meals are not as healthy as I would like in order to continue to use the service. It leans on the expensive side as I figure it costs around $10-12 dollars per person a meal. However, it made me become more cognizant of portion sizes which is a plus. Taste is not bad but I find most recipes to be too sweet for my taste, making it seem a little to fast food tasting. Over all I would recommend this to somebody who may feel that they are stuck in a rout as to there regularly dishes.

Ahhh you didn’t bring the water to a boil before adding the rice! I’m a huge rice fan! I eat rice with every meal !
The instructions specifically said to add the rice and water at the same time and bring it to a boil! I thought it was odd too lol but I was just following their directions to see how it turned out! A lot of their recipes are that way but it always turns out great :)
Is there any baking involved where you require an oven ?
Haha ok so like literally a minute after I asked my question you stuck the patties in the oven! Guess that's a yes.
Haha no problem! But it depends on the recipe! Some recipes do and some don't! You can see the instructions for each meal on the website before choosing so you could see whether a certain recipe requires an oven or not!

Pro tip, you do know your supposed to cover the pot with a lid to cook the rice? Rice cooks from the steam, not just just the boiling water. Unless its instant, but if its instant, I'd ask for my money back XD

They have 2 person and 4 person plans I believe. If you’re on your own and want lunch and dinner then the 2 person would be great. If it’s you and someone else, then the 4 person plan would leave you enough for lunch and dinner!

Cutting calories? Get rid of the spray oil 😅, if you say something needs more sauce, add the butter, rice, water goes in first... other than thattttttttttt it looks delicious
Well the spray oil has 0 calories so I wasn't concerned about it for calories! That's why I used that in place of regular oil. And I didn't add butter to the sauce because again, a lot of extra calories haha
@@keishapettway your body LOVES butter fat, and knows how to break it down, and olive or avocado oil is the same. Your body LOVES that stuff. That spray oil, your body has no clue what to do with that so it either gets rid of it, or, like it does with a lot of the stuff it doesn't know what to do with, it turns it directly into sugar and or fat that sticks to you. Hope this helps 😅 but nah I just ordered it and it looks booming!

Be careful providing this company with your bank account or bank card information. We canceled our "subscription" in March, and we just got hit with a surprise charge for $91. When we called to see how this could have happened the first "customer service representative" was extraordinarily rude and hung up on us. I've had to take the extra measure of getting my bank involved and may have to cancel my wife's card if they do this again.
