This is perhaps Mark's most comprehensive, end-to-end process coverage within a 32 minute timeline and it comes at the perfect time having just completed my first two paintings. I am ready to tackle #3. (Thank you Mark.)
In all honesty, you are the best guy I came close to knowing that are the most humble, detailed and easy to understand. It's very soothing to follow you and understanding everything about painting. Not a time I was bored listening and watching you. Kudos to you mate!
Super demonstration. As a fellow art teacher its refreshing to hear your explanation of using the values and holding off on highlights until the last possible moment.
The first time i every viewed your video was a round5 year ago when you painted a metal cup.I was blown away in what was involved you never fail to deliver.I have watched all your videos and two things seems to be stuck with me,make sure your values are right and maintain abstraction.Just want to say thank you Sir Carder.
Just been listening to you whilst I paint my own subject and found myself growing as a painter as the tike progressed listening to you. Thanks so much. ❤
As a 25 year graphic designer taking on oil painting as a new medium I took to heart that value is so much more important than a spot on color. It’s not as if the still life objects or photo are displayed along side the finished painting.
WOW I just got into oil painting and binge watched all your videos. Started a still life the other day and definitely think I'll return to the glass now that you've uploaded this :D
Bravo! Fantastic master class, so full of great pieces of advise and subtle comments, truly masterful. I'll be coming back to this video many times for sure. Thank you so much for sharing indeed.
I find that wet upon wet is never a problem until try to put a bright white highlight on top! I prefer to wait until the first layer is dry. Really enjoyed the demo. Very helpful. Thank you
I am learning a lot from your videos, I wonder how this process should be done using acrylic paint since time is a factor to reckon with unlike oil paint with a much longer drying time?
Good question! I think I have solved the drying time for oils,? I paint in glazes - warm temperatures, and add or use a Cobalt solutions to my oil paints!
Wonderfull to watch. So inspiring to watch the dance of the brushstrokes - and for me it looks like the holy grail of painting - just a beautifull, vibrating, and very live demonstration of alla prima oil painting ❤❤❤
Many thanks for your Brilliant demonstration. So informative, and containing numerous Valuable tips. I think I may well through away my detail brushes!.
Hello Mark and thank you so much for your fantastic teaching!! I'm learning a lot, that's for me a new perspective for my painting experience . Thanks a lot!
That was great, so many good painters so far I have seen on UA-cam. I still have trouble with colors, but everything he said put my mind at ease that it will come, not to rush, just practice, practice, practice. I love portrait painting, and drawing faces as well. I am a beginner, I have been doing this for about 2 years, I'm catching on.
Thank you so much for sharing your talent. Your instructions take the fear out of oil painting. With this video I see why my paintings look flat. My strokes were too much like the last one, no variation.
Am going to start painting again but in acrylics. I have a slew of oils but don't have a studio and can't paint in oils in the house. Would love to try your Geneva paints. Are they really safe as you say? I also like the limited palette, but I somehow ended up with lots of tubes of oil. I love to watch you paint and listen to your soothing voice. I learned so much. Thank you.
The only human I can listen to for 32 minutes straight.
Love his voice
Wendy Vargas me too, so soothing
