- I planned on doing this video for quite some time so when I got a request for it I decided to go for it right away. I did not put this person on the waiting list. Executive decision. No offense to anyone on the waiting list.
This was really fun for my daughter and I to do together. Somewhere in the middle I had to give her a hard time and put all her crayons back in the box.

I distinctly remember being in class in grade 7 beside a kid who was my friend and a gifted artist. He was drawing something and being very meticulous about it, going about everything very slowly and methodically. I was paralyzed by how enjoyable the sounds of him reaching into his pencil case were and then bringing lead to paper. When I reflect I sometimes think he knew what ASMR was and was taking his time for my benefit; It was that good. I've had the response all my life and only discovered "ASMR" when I became curious if others experienced the same reaction to certain sounds/gestures and that one really sticks out in my mind.
I have a similar memory. I hope this video brought it back for you.

Yes as i look back i remember being so very relaxed in art class like to the point i was useless and falling asleep pretty much..haha ooopps
Yes, me too. I remember when someone was digging through their case looking for something, and I got chills, and I felt so relaxed. I was disappointed when they stopped. I had similar reactions to cutting paper and crinkling plastic. I had no idea that it was a thing, or that others felt that way. I’m glad!

Yes, me too! The sound of my teacher writing on the chalk board or when we had to write or color something introduced me to ASMR around grade 3, I would almost fall asleep lol. I'm still the same way and I'm a grown woman in her late 40's! Lolol. Listen to these videos at night to help relax me to fall asleep due to MS. Thank God for these videos! 👍👂zzzzzzzz❤️

I’ve been subscribed to dozens... maybe hundreds of youtubers over the last ten years but I think I’ve left more comments on your channel than all other channels combined cos yours has had the most positive impact on my life. I have a lot of anxiety when I try to go to sleep and these videos with NATURAL asmr (not the aggressive tapping and slurping) really make me feel like I’m in a really cozy home and help relieve my anxiety. This is the best ASMR video I've ever listened to. Coloring noises have always given me deep relaxation and tingles; similar to other commenters, well before I even knew ASMR was a thing. And honestly, the tingles are the most powerful for me when the people making the sounds are *actually* doing the thing, like y'all are really intentionally coloring in the pages. It's such good energy. Thank you for sharing this with the world!

This is great!!! I’ve been curious for awhile and keep meaning to ask. What got you started in ASMR? You’re such a natural I’ve wondered if someone told you that you should do ASMR videos because you give them tingles.😂 All your videos are so natural which isn’t always easy to find in the ASMR community these days. When it first began everything was more natural because people were just experimenting with a bunch of different sounds. Now so many artists I feel have lost what ASMR was built on, which is the natural tingles we all got from a young age hearing true real natural sounds in the world. Now so many artists have channels that are crossing a line into a full blown production. While I do enjoy some of those types of videos occasionally, they NEVER give me tingles the way natural ASMR does. I love your content so much. Breath of fresh air. People have way over complicated producing ASMR in my opinion. Anyways I’ve wondered what made you start making videos? You always have the best content. ❤️ Also curious, do you yourself experience ASMR? I assume you do. Majority of artists who are naturals understand ASMR because they too have it so they are naturally more soft in life because it’s relaxing. Just curious if you have it.😏🤷🏻♀️
I love your questions! I have always experienced ASMR as far as I can remember back. It started when I was in grade school.
I did not know what it was and I did not tell anybody about it. I don’t experience tingles. I simply get locked into a mental trance and get extremely sleepy.
I got started in ASMR just a little over a year ago. My husband was playing a video game and the toggle switch and typewriter were incredibly mesmerizing. So when he quit his game I was so bummed. I had the bright idea of looking up typing sounds on the Internet, crossing my fingers, hoping that someone had made a random recording of it. Then lo and behold! The whole world of ASMR opened up to me. I hardly ever used UA-cam or the Internet except for looking up words to define. It was all just a big library or encyclopedia to me... at my fingertips. Very rarely used it. I was a big fan of Facebook and MySpace so I could communicate with my family. But basically I didn’t much use the Internet as a source of entertainment.
The knowledge of ASMR changed all of that. I couldn’t get enough of the different sounds just at first. Realizing what I had discovered, I thought eventually, “ nobody is making my favorite triggers like I would like to see them happen.” I sincerely thought I would just make a few of my own videos and have them available on UA-cam for me to listen to. I had no clue how to use UA-cam and didn’t understand how to make my videos private or public or anything like that. I just played a bit.
I about fell on the floor when somebody liked and commented on my cheesy videos. It was just so much fun to make the video, listen to the video, and then interact with people about it. That spurred me on. Then eventually my granddaughter said I should buy a microphone. I have been doing everything on my cell phone. My top most popular video is all done with just a cell phone. My microphone is just a tiny little thing that plugs into my cell phone.
You have hit on my convictions that ASMR originates from our childhood. Ergo, old school videos and a great desire to bring about nostalgia and home/childhood situations to trigger a most pleasant memory of sound. It was what I wanted and it was all for me just at first. Now, I am blessed to share and blessed to be paid a bit for it. I hope that answers the question. And now I have to go get ready for my real job. Back to reality. Lol! Sometimes I wish I lived off grid like you guys.
Rebecca’s Beautiful ASMR Addiction oh man this story is the greatest! I discovered ASMR videos about 18 months ago and used to be into those deliberate trigger ones, with just a list of items to tap on. Then I realized that I actually got the most relaxation from the intermittent noises of them putting the item down, or something natural. I wished I could find more of this “unintentional” or natural ASMR content then... I found yours!! It is just perfect. Your video quality is amazing esp considering it’s on a phone with small mic. And I also didn’t realize that the nostalgia piece is a big part of it too. You are so spot on!
