Let’s Go Mets! Great games & great pitching across the playoffs landscape. Severino was roughed up a bit but I love these types of outing which shows a pitcher true mettle & moxie. Sevy struggled with his command & gave up some walks, hits & run; he bent but didn’t break.
He gutted through it helping the Mets bullpen. When a pitcher battles & shows true grit by keeping their team in the game, that’s what is impressive to me. He didn’t have his best stuff but gave them some crucial innings.
Both the Mets & Braves had to play after season’s end due to inclement weather & rescheduling so they both didn’t het time off & had to travel. It wasn’t ideal but may have helped them. The Mets seem to have maintained their intensity & momentum.
That changeup at around @11:20 in the Best Pitches of the Day section was nasty. He must turn it over hard because it was like a Fernando Valenzuela screwball only from a righty. Not only was it an offspeed timing wrecker but it had devastating drop & arm side run. Absolutely disgusting.
Dudes are swinging at pitches that end up 5 ft off the plate, absolutely filthy. Go Padres!

The Royals starting pitchers have all been phenomenal this year. Ragans has proved himself, Lugo is now elite for some reason, Wacha has been great, it's just been a really fun year.
I miss king and higgy on the yanks. I think the Soto trade was worth it though.

i wish y’all would have highlighted Aaron Bummer-he picked up two double plays in a spot where the braves absolutely needed it and stopped the bleeding to keep it a close-ish game. I know he’s a ground ball pitcher and that’s generally not as celebrated here but I think his performance absolutely warranted a mention
bummer is celebrated on this channel for his filthy sweepers, but his pitches last night were not that nasty. ground ball double plays are not sexy.

I love Snitker, don't get me wrong, he seems like an honest, no-nonsense kind of coach, but I sincerely think him and his staff mishandled their pitching strategy. I'm not an expert at all, so take this as seriously as you like, but with a game that gives you an 88 per cent chance of going through you have to get your more experienced guys in there. Open with Chavez, then maybe you go Smith-Shawver or Elder and Bummer and Lee and the gang
Hey Ninja, I noticed watching Jason Adam with the Pads, his sweeper looks like it gets crazy vertical depth like a curve ball compared to most sweepers that get comical horizontal break. Are my eyes deceiving me or does his actually drop down a bunch, and how does he do this with a sweeper?
