Thanks for the tour! Its been since 2006 that I have attended a Hamfest, which was the Hamvention in Dayton. Its tough living in the EU and not beng able to attend the many shows I used to visit. Again many thanks!
I bought my Icom 745 from KJI Electronics back in 1984 at the Bristol Hamfest. I think it was in a drive-in movie back then. I came all the way from north Jersey to this event. Still looks great!
@@ernietech-101 Yes, I believe you are correct. Amazing how time flies and in the process smudges memories. Wow, a Target and a Lowes now. Amazing how things change. Thanks for the reminder.
I went in 2013 and I consider it a learning experience and I will never return.I much prefer Hamcation and I go to it every year when it’s held and I have since 1993.Hamcation is the Best in my opinion and Hamvention is a bunch of HYPE.
@@1OFGODSOWN Heard Dayton isn't what it was. But I recall back in the 80's when all the major radio Vendors like Icom and Yaesu had booths at Dayton w/the hottest new gear! Most of the Hams I went with are gone now so haven't been since 2002.
I went to Shelby and a man had a clipboard and was counting. I asked if he was counting attendance and he said he was counting people with gray hair. Enjoy hamfests while you can. I think they are sadly going away. I stopped to look at a power supply in a rack several times. At the end of the day the man said buy me a Coca Cola and it’s yours. I said I was in a small car. He replied “Don’t you have any friends boy?”
If theres any way I could get a copy of this, I lost my brother 2 weeks ago and you got him several times in this vid (big guy with cane and blue backpack) and Id love to have a copy to save. If youre in the area I work in Langhorne.
99% perfect…thanks…just a little more time around tables and gear…zooming in on items..a little less jerkin while walking …this is the day and age of lots of memorex sticks !
