I don’t believe in setting goals with set due dates unless there’s something that by its nature requires a specific deadline. I gravitate more toward what is the environment I want to create for myself and what are steps that I can take to achieve it. I try to limit to about four categories and I mainly focus on 1-2 primary areas not 8 or 10 or 12. I love the idea of creating margin. I remember first hearing about that several years ago from Emily Ley. It’s a concept I try to embrace even in my planner: embrace some white space and don’t feel the need to fill every space and every minute of the day. Love your video. 💕
Almost three years ago, I bought the Law of Attraction planner. The process was to create your vision, from there your values. And then set your intentions, within a year, three years and five years. From the intentions, you set actionable goals. And then weekly and daily it was all about being in the right mindset (or vibration as they call it). So your process here reminds me a lot of what I did back then. And new-agey as it might seem, it worked. I did achieve my goal of buying my own house that year, something I thought I wouldn't be able to achieve in one year. So now that my priorities have shifted, I will repeat the process I did back then at the end of this year. Because when I went through that step by step, I did discover things about myself I didn't know. Like how important familiy is to me. I bought that house for that very reason, so I could be closer to my father. So I do believe that intentional living really works, maybe not through the mechanics of manifestation, but somehow I did make happen what I wanted.
Kendra, thankyou. I love that you are always reflecting and tweeking/changing to increase the way your planning meets your values. I also love your spiritual intentions. Very grateful for your videos as always.
I couldn’t agree more with not setting annual goals at this point. Everything is in such a state of flux in the outer world that it’s very hard to count on a stable structure in any industry. Developing values-based intentions that are not time specific and can express in any kind of environment makes perfect sense to me. I’ve gone down to quarterly goals at this point and they are basically only things I can do myself.
I'm glad to know other people are feeling the same way! I've been feeling more and more anti-SMART goal for a while - even before the pandemic - and now I'm just going to do what works for me. 😊
I am doing something like this breaking my intentions in quarterly instead of annual and I also do monthly vision boards based off what I want my quarterly intentions to be!!! It’s smaller and as a chronically ill person it’s better and less stressful 😆 good luck beloved I love your channel! Can you show how you will work them in your makselife planner/goal intentions system 👏
Definitely! I just placed my order for my 2023 MakseLife planner yesterday. I think I may start using the intentions to set my November goals & projects, so I'll be sharing what that looks like soon.
I have to set goals or intentions monthly or quarterly at most right now. Not in a manifesting way but intentional way giving myself grace when life happens and intentions/goals change.
