If you have never heard Taeyang's original version of "Eyes Nose Lips " you really need to. The Korean version is one of Taeyang's solo songs and it is a classic that has been covered by numerous people in the industry. If you had heard the original version you would have at least known this was not a children's song and that it was a powerful breakup song that actually originally was about the girl that Taeyang is now married too. I think if you had heard the original version first you would have been much more impressed with what Tablo did with the song. The original is much more of a singers song because Taeyang is one of the main vocalists of BigBang. Tablo's version is amazing because of his lyrical poetry, but the original version is way different. I'm not even sure that Taeyang did anything for this version -- I think the clips of Taeyang were just lifted from his original version MV and his vocals might have even been from his original recording as well. Tablo is known for his poetry and the fact that his lyrics are so powerful. Anyone who has ever worked with him has said that the way he writes lyrics is extremely intimidating because he makes you feel like you need to rise to his level just to match his skills. If I remember right, Tablo actually was a literature and poetry major in college so his lyrics are super poetic. If you want to get to know Tablo better you should check out clips and full episodes of his Radio blog on the Dive UA-cam Channel. Even his insights on life are super poetic a lot of the time. :D There also have been English covers of the original version of "Eyes Nose Lips." You should check out Eric Nam's English cover. Actually Youngbae's part in this wasn't lifted from his original version, he sang all of this one in English and the original is basically all in Korean he was also dressed slightly different in this compared to the other. Tablo is amazing and I love this dark version of Eyes nose lips

actually it's a cover version of the original track by taeyang. So taeyang part is actually kinda a surprise addition. The song was really popular back then it won Song of The Year, so there are so many artist covered it. So, YG makes this Eyes, Nose, Lips cover project. There are 3 cover versions. By AKMU, Lidya Peak and Tablo. Another covers don't have taeyang in it, because you know it's a cover. But for Tablo version they decided to add Taeyang at last part.

I love both versions. Both are in my music collection. This isn't a translation of the Korean lyrics. Taeyang's original version is more a yearning for a lost love (it worked, she's his wife now), whereas Tablo's version is darker and more angst ridden. Definitely check out the original, because it's just such a great song. When you're familiar with both, the two songs actually fit really well together.
there was announced some kind of project-competition to make a cover song and Tablo won. So i think they used all Tablo version and just added like small accent Taeyang in the end. Tablo is awesome lyricist. Start writing from young age. And he graduated from Stanford University with honors in English literature and creative writing. Also he have good humor sense, check "Dynamic Duo + Epik High + Simon D - Cypher"
I believe I’ve heard Taeyang version before. I didn’t know there were other versions. I can say his lyrics were dope. But I do agree wished it was 50/50. Feel like it made the song feel whole if that makes sense.
