Sounds amazing.
1:39 That air brake sounds scary
Do you get better MPG with the 4 speed splitter?
I do, but moreover if I drive conservatively. If I want to have fun with it, the MPG increase isn't as much. It is getting 12-15mpg as opposed to the stock setup on the Bird which gets 7-8mpg. The straight pipe exhaust also helps a lot.
How come there are 2 sticks? Was it originally set up that way. I remember the sticks coming up as high as the dash, exactly like that, when I rode bus as a kid. Those were the days!!!!!!!!!
sk8ersbus1 I have a 5x4 triplex transmission setup like antique semi trucks. Main stick is a normal 5-speed, and the second is a 4-speed splitter - Lo-Lo, Underdrive, Direct Drive and Overdrive. It splits each of the 5 main gears 3-4 ways... Also, in this video, the second stick had not yet been connected to the auxiliary transmission. I had yet to make the new shift linkage.
@@txstreetman So in this video, the transmission was operating in normal direct drive if the linkage was not hooked up to the auxillary trans?
do the wheels move when the bus is moving
Why is there a gear shift on the floor and an automatic shift on the dash? Which one do you use? Never seen a bus with both. Its either one or the other.
Jack Schissler It is a full manual transmission. Twin-stick like old semi trucks. Auto shifter is just for show at this point as I didn't want to remove it and cover the hole. The former Allison transmission that this bus had is in my garage waiting for someone to buy it.
When you sit in the driver side or in the front it sound like a normal engine or stock engine when you go on the back of the back or near the exhaust it will sound like a. Straight pipe
They do supposed to sound like that
That engine is awesome.
