When is the biopic with you as Doc Rivers?
Who is worse George Karl or Doc Rivers?
Doc Rivers is arguably the worst coach in NBA history given the talent he's had. I've if the coaches with the most talent yet owns several worst of all-time records. The most 3-1 leads, blown 3-2 leads (not including 3-1 series) that amounts almost 30% of all playoff series in the league in history, and the only guy to have an 18 game losing streak, and he did it with two different teams, both with all NBA superstars on roster. This guy is really just a talker and motivator, not a coach. He's very good at talking to management and owners, and as a person, his true colors have slowed itself with every time when blame starts going around. He has placed it on others, especially his players, with every team since Orlando.
We've all met co-workers like this with no substance but can play politics and have tremendous skill in pleasing the higher-ups, so it's not surprising he keeps fumbling and stumbling to new job opportunities, despite on merits alone would probably have been out of the league a long time ago. That's why I respect the 08 Celtics. Credit to defensive coach Tom Thibobeau and the four coaches and leaders on the floor. They didn't win because of Doc. They won in spite of him.

It's no one's fault ever when it comes to professional athletes...and most people in general tbh.
If you don't accept the consequences you can't get better.
Doc has had 3 championship level teams that failed
Daaaam. 😂
Wonder who will be his scapegoat this year when they get bounced? Who will he throw under the bus? Like one player can lose a series. But since he is good with the ESPN guys, he's always gonna get picked up from the recycling bin.
This clip is so relevant to understanding JJ's recent comments

doc rivers is the reason why his resume is the way it is….
Doc rivers got carried in Boston and has been living off that for nearly decades.
And he's a big reason why the sixers will lose to the celtics and fail go get to the 3rd round AGAIN
@Ramell Dion he was carried by great teams doc is a horrible coach which he has proven
@Ramell Dion I'll say this, Doc is a good regular season coach. Although he does tend to be more biased against younger guys, he can coach a team to be good in the regular season. In 2008, didn't the Celtics have to play a game 7 against the 8th seed hawks? My point is, Doc is not good in the playoffs. As a clippers fan, check out the Nuggets fiasco with Trezz having to guard Jokic 30 mins a game

Not an ounce of personal accountability in that man.
Not just the record. By FAR.
Doc has to be one of the biggest underachieving coaches ever given the talent he's had
That 08 ring is the only reason he's still employed
He could be a great coach if he would just shut the hell up.

Yep. This where the heat came from. Doc is always in self preservation mood. Sometimes you gotta say it’s your fault even when it may not be. It’s hard to believe he doesn’t know that since he used to be a player.
Ok - so they have a right to be upset - But - doc was brought in to try to clean up Blake / CP because Vinny Couldn’t - Draymond on this Podcast said they were front runners - The players have all said the dynamic was weird - even if they are mad it ain’t like Doc lied 🤷🏾♂️

You on point --- letter/number guy!
See I can’t agree with some of this nonsense. “Broke ben Simmons”? He put Ben in a position where his lack of an outside shot didn’t hurt Embiid like it did in the past and I thought that was brilliant! The other stuff maybe true but I doubt it. Anyways you can’t blame him for Ben Simmons that was his fault for being very oddly passive.

JJ has a pretty solid doc rivers impression haha
Look at how Doc handled the Ben Simmons situation. I’m an Orlando fan, Doc was there during one of the worst season records in NBA History during the T Mac era. Idc about that one Celtics championship, Doc has consistently underperformed with the talented rosters he’s been given, these are facts. So for him to come out and say that, just adds to a layer of what we know about him as a coach.

Classic Doc. I knew this man had 0 accountability when he used the excuse that the 2010 Lakers never beat his Celtics (with a full roster coz of injuries) Knowing damn well Andrew Bynum and Trevor Ariza were both injured when his 2008 Celtics beat the Lakers.
Plus Thibs defense was way more responsible than anything Rivers did as a coach. What did Doc even contribute to that team?

Clippers sucked with Kawhi and PG under him.

The more you hear about Doc Rivers...on the other hand Jamal and JJ have become really good to listen to. I'd love to see more of JJ x Jamal tbh.
I’d love to hear more tips from JJ about coaching young kids!
Doc didn’t “make” JJ , he was a focal point in Orlando’s Finals run… He wasn’t wrong about Doc , At ALL
"accountability" this word hit different after first take
Doc was the reason they ain’t win… the GM doc and the Coach doc failed. And he doing the same thing in Philly
Doesn't help that Embiid is the modern day Chris Webber. Always timid in crunch time. When James Harden is the clutch one on the team, that's a problem. Doc did the best he could with that team after they lost Jimmy Butler. I'm blaming Ben Simmons for that Atlanta series
Dropping heat per usual 🔥
I'm here a couple days after Doc got fired from Philly and a day after Rasheed Wallace (played for Doc as a Celtic) just got done saying he felt Doc was a coach who never made adjustments and deserved to get fired. This JJ and Jamal conversation adds further context to the Glenn Shivers AKA Glenn Quivers "legacy".

These two are spot on. You can tell they’re holding back and trying to take it easy on him a little, which I understand. The best the defending champ spurs and now doc says he knew they could never win a championship. What kind of message does that send his players now? If he says “guys we can win a championship” how could you believe him. His statement was also devoid of any personal accountability. He was the coach AND the gm, yet he was talking as if he had nothing to do with the under performance of those teams.

The Doc impression was crazy 😂
If you don't got guys occasionally arguing in the locker room, you don't got people holding each other accountable and being honest with each other. You don't got people who care about winning. It's all how you handle coming back together after. Bad teams get in their feelings about it, Good teams get back on the same page. Coaching and leadership picks which lane your team is in.

JJ’s point about dock not only being the head coach, but the GM is a great point. If he believed the team wasn’t going to win how it was constructed. Why wouldn’t he make moves to make the chemistry better on the team?
This was 10 months ago and just now, Doc Rivers threw the Milwaukee bucks under the bus after losing to Memphis. It's really a problem. 😂
This the same coach that threw Ben Simmons under the bus after getting sent home. Whether you agree or not it is wild an NBA coach would ever do that.
He really didn't. That was 95% narrative.
Should he have said, "Yes. Absolutely." Sure. But "I don't know" is literally the correct answer to that question. People act like Doc said: "No. Ben cannot lead us to a championship. He is not a winning player"
The man was just being honest. People are too sensitive.
Ben Simmons 100% deserved that. Doc defended him all season when he was playing bad/being passive, almost to a fault.
Accountability has been Doc's kryptonite.
I remember watching those clippers teams just wishing for them to stay healthy. The on court team chemistry never seemed to be the issue. Its fucked up to put the blame on the players when you're the leader of the team. And the one chip with the 08 Celtics Doc has as a coach had an insane line-up and depth. He lucked out Rondo was so poised as a young player and the big 3 were starving to get one. He didn't do much to develop those players, may glen Davis. He definitely should take more accountability about the impact a coach should have on a team instead of acting like its completely out of his control. -"They are not getting along again, looks like we are never going to win" lmao
JJ just reiterated what Doc said. So can’t blame Doc
Just an aside, Jamal Crawford was in the league for 20 years, what an amazing career.
Doc Rivers is 100% correct. It was clear Blake & Cp3 hated each other.
