#Tekken8
I dunno what the comments are confused about. He explained it neatly: Holding a button makes it easier to do inputs that involve pressing 2 buttons simultaneously. Need 1+2 after a 1? Press 1, and while still holding it, then press 2! No need to let go and time it.
When Aris made a video about it all those years ago, my mind was blown.
Basically the game counts some incomplete inputs, so basically you can hold an input to do a move that requires 2 inputs. A good example is doing a 1+2 move (left punch and right punch) but you hold one of the inputs and press the other one to complete the input.
I found out about this myself last night. This helps greatly with King's chain throw inputs (for example if the game is asking you to press 2, 4, 3, 1, 1+3 simply roll to the 3 input without releasing 1 instead of just manually inputting 1+3).
Also new thing in tekken 8: you dont need to press both buttons at the same time to get the desired input, for example u can break 1+2 grab by pressing (and not let go) 1 or 2,then adding second button. In tekken 7 it was a justframe, so everyone had binds
ty for sharing. I wasn't aware of button buffering in Tekken. Coming from vf we always buffer our directional inputs
This is honestly the best explanation of button buffering I've seen. I'd still recommend those that are able to (most likely pad players) to set inputs anyway cause hitting a raw 1+4 or 2+3 on pad is really tricky, but if you use a combination of the two you're on the way to becoming a monster at the game.
I figured this out on my own whilst practicing. But this video is exactly how I would describe it. How you would do it on a pad, well that's up to you to figure out.
Had no idea this was even a thing. Thank you
I remember learning about this very shortly after learning about claw grip, I guess you'd call it, where you have your index and middle finger pressing the attack buttons on pad. 1+4 and 2+3 inputs seemed impossible to me back during T3, those two things really opened my eyes.
I do this all the time. I thought this was commonly known since i learnt years ago randomly. Its unfortunate that it isnt present in some other fighters
One thing I'd like to add is the exact opposite of this trick also exists. Plenty of combo strings only have 1 or 2 possible inputs to continue it and will ignore any irrelevant buttons you might press, so there's alot of times when you can use those dual input macros on say a controller's shoulder button to serve as a single button and do 2 completely different inputs during a combo. Very useful on controllers as you don't need to adjust your hand as much. Which macro you use and where you bind it will depend heavily on your character and preference.
Oh wow news to me 😮 Thank you. Will lab it
Wow, very useful.
Yeah when doing zafina's f2'3 in combos in tekken 7, i would always hold down the 3 as the move i had to do next was SCR 3+4 so i would just hold down the 3 from the f2,3 and then mash 4
This is mandatory for king’s chain grabs !
Actually good short explanation for new tekken players that doesnt know what is button buffering. Idk why some complains about it tho
My life was changed in under a minute
This will be easier for King’s chain throws for sure. Some of them requires 3 buttons at ones.
It makes Reina’s just frame piano tap 2,1 really hard
