- Faith holds great importance in people's lives and is an integral part of different cultures and sub-cultures. While it can mean different things to different people, it is what helps people not give up hope in difficult times. #Urudhi is a heartfelt melody that simplifies the concept of faith among people by means of music and how two entities are connected.
An unique amalgamation of religious and spiritual music, the song features Sangeetha Kalanidhi awardee Sanjay Subrahmanyam, a renowned voice in Carnatic music, accompanied by Arifullah Shah, a practicing fakir trained in Naagoor style Tamil Sufi music who’s all set to make his debut in the Tamil music industry. Adding much-needed depth and cultural nuances to the song, the duo is joined by the well-renowned Sunshine Orchestra and Punya Srinivas on Veena, an ancient Indian instrument reminding us of Goddess Saraswati that finds its origins in different holy texts and scriptures.

I am from North India, and this was my introduction to Carnatic Sangeet.....so, unable to understand the lyrics, I heard this purely as musical notes.... and it was superb! A great blend of vocals, Veena, the orchestra and choir, all so well arranged and conducted.

My goodness! Already listening in loop!!! This is instantly hooked... Will be one of the best in CST season! Depth of Thiru Sanjay & effortless highs of Thiru Arifullah, music arrangements, superb choir team, fantastic lyrics especially the lines sung by Thiru Sanjay , loved the Tamil lyrics...somehow giving me vibes of Coke Studio Season#14 "Thagyan" though the two songs are different, but somehow that emotions are similar. Good composition. Shri Sanjay takes this song to new heights. Shri Arifullah made a good attempt. His diction of “ஆணை” sounds as “ஆனை” in most places. The Veena interlude is nice. Chorus sounds effective as stand alone but gets submerged under the rhythm and percussion otherwise. Overall a different concept and creation. 👌

Welcome to South India Music! Tamilnadu is home to some greatest musical talents in India. Music directors like MSV, Illayaraja, ARR and now Yuvan Shankar Raja, Santhosh Narayanan, Imman, Anirudh have among them easily some of the greatest hit songs of India. Have listened to CSP (season 14) but if you listen to composition of these great music directors you will be blown away. CST might just be an intro to you to Tamil music, but already some great work in India has been done in the past and more will be done. If you are curious learn about these directors work, you can look into youtube vidoes of their work, i can guarantee that you will not be disappointed and suprised on the treasures that you have to uncover! The standard of South music is so high that even Season 14 will look ordinary. Between, my fav of Season-14 was Thagyaan!

With her band, Paanchajanyam she has brought many different popular musical genres on the Veena. She launched an album "Veena in Vienna" giving different dimension to Veena which became a global hit. She followed it up with another album called the "Sound of Swan"
சஞ்சய் சுப்ரமண்யம் சுருட்டி ராகத்திலும் ('நீ அன்றி’) Arifullah சிந்துபைரவி ராகத்திலும் ('ஆணை’) பாடி இருக்கிறார்கள். புண்யா அவர்களுக்கு ஏற்றாற்போல் ராகத்தில் வாசித்து இருக்கிறார். ஒருவர் perform பண்ணும்போது மற்றவர்கள் உற்சாகத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தி இருக்கிறார்கள். Vocals and String Arrangement and Conductor Kalyani Nair music conduct பண்ணும்போதே டான்ஸ் ஆடியிருக்கிறார். கடைசியில் அவர் இரண்டு கைகளையும் மேல தூக்கி ஸ்டாப் சொல்லும்போது எல்லாம் முடிகிறது. இன்னம் கொஞ்சம் நேரம் இருந்தாதான் என்ன என்று கேட்க தோன்றுகிறது. என்னம்மா இப்படி பண்றீங்களே அம்மா என்று கேட்க தோன்றுகிறது. கொஞ்சம் ஸ்வரம் பாடி, நிரவல் பாடி, விருத்தம் பாடி, இல்லாட்டி ஒரு தில்லானா பாடி முடித்து இருக்கலாமே என்று மனம் விரும்புகிறது. Initially, I thought it is a good song with an exceptional Veena work but when it got to the middle, it became a song you wanted so much more of and realized it ended too soon.
