Hi Julie! I wanted to go a little larger on this awesome star box, so I would love to share the math with you for using two pieces that are 7" by 8". Mark the centers of the short sides at 3 1/2 " and mark the longer sides at 2" and 6". Go ahead and chop off the corners. Now a tip: Instead of marking each 4" side of the hexagon on center at 2", you can just align the left side of the hexagon on your trimmer at 5 1/4 " and do your six score lines. Now continue as you did, no measuring needed, aligning the opposing tips and scoring from each tip to where the closest score lines intersect.I am so excited to know how to make these since the theme for my grandson's nursery will be stars and planets. The star gift box is gorgeous. It's great as a tree ornament because of its size. I would love to have one that would hold two or three Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Looking forward to your video on how to tie bows and knots. Thanks so much for sharing.

You can also ‘cut’ the ribbon with a wood burning tool and the awl tip.

I love your star box! I enjoyed making the one you showed us. I made some other sizes - so now I can make two boxes the same size boxes from 81/2 x 11 and one larger and one small box from 8 1/2 x 11. I would be glad to share my template if you like. Thank you for your nice video.

Thats so cool! Its very effective perhaps a lot of preparation however I love it and am keen to give it a try. How long did it take you to make and was there a reason you didnt use the score board?
Thank you! It takes less than 10 minutes to make. Because you're scoring from tick mark to tick mark, it's easier to use the Stampin' Trimmer. You can use the Simply Scored, it's just easier to use the Stampin' Trimmer.

Hi Nancy! Unfortunately not. The center part of the box (minus the points of the star) is 2-5/8" in diameter and it is 1-1/2" deep. Hope that helps!
