Definitely enjoy Rinseless washes but also prefer a bucket and foaming. It just depends on time and environment. Appreciate all the content as always Brian.
Very nice to see some innovation when it comes to rinseless. I’ve recently moved to using super soft microfiber towels for rinseless. Throw a bunch in the solution. The towel never returns to the bucket so the solution stays as clean as possible. Love it so far 🍻🍻🍻
Should the towels really be soaked though? I thought their ability to pick up reduces when they are saturated.
great video thanks for taking the time to make it!
appreciate all those moneyshots of your sponge collection. you da best.
I've used rinseless wash for awhile now and like the results. I just picked up a similar sponge from the Rag Company and it works great.
Very unique design!
I like watching the suds drip slowly off the vehicle.
Definitely love rinseless washes
I prefer rinseless unless the vehicle is really dirty or needs an acidic water spot wash. The thought process on the sponge makes sense but it does look big and awkward. Thank you for the fun video!
I have been very hesitant to use rinseless on soft black toyota paint. I used it a bunch this winter at the car wash this winter with good results using around 20 towels. I think this sponge might be right for me to get over the last hurdle. I like the shape and the idea of using the roll method to be as safe as possible. I can see this being a prefered method on days that are not ideal , pressure wash of outside and rinseless in the garage. Thanks a bunch Brian, i was just looking at this sponge today at Phoenix EOD. I wish you carried more of there products.
Only Rinsless, never had a problem if I wash every week, but not with this sponge, DIY Legacy is the way
just got my p and s absolute perfect timing
I enjoy this sponge over many others like it as well
Thanks for your time, Brian. It's just that a foam cannon makes me feel like watching Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso on College GameDay while sipping a beer 😂
Hydra is my go too slick and a joy to use. Leaves a clean surface and slick. I have used it enough to believe in this product. It is so well. In fact, it’s great on your glass your interior there’s many uses for it even as a drying aid. Hydra can be used in many situations and I would courage everybody to grab yourself a bottle and see for yourself just how good a Rinseless wash can be.❤
I think I’ll try rinseless out!
Definitely time for me to upgrade 🤓👍🏻
I would like to see the Esoteric sponge. Dont recall if you reviewed that b4. But i believe thats more for soap washes
Always love your content! Thank you for that. But I'm a nervous washer lol I usually use 5 or 7 mitts in the bucket with Mr pink sudsy soap. After a foam spray. And I do this once a month and the other 3 weeks I just pressure wash cause it doesn't get that dirty and she's ceramic coated. Always air blowing her dry. I wanna try rinseless wash but I just can't see myself doing often contact washes especially with rinsless meathod and not marring the paint. Maybe a few sponges for each panel doing rinseless... iduno.
I love rinseless washes, I recently tried Absolute and it's on par with my old trustworthy favorite ONR. I still have the red sponge from Optimum and it's still in good shape, imagine that. But I'm kind of a freak and I always do some rinseless washes on cars that are not dirty, just needing a little pop, almost as a replacement for a QD and I feel like there is less risk of marring the paint. I love it, but let's be real if your car has some dirt on it, do not hesitate to go the traditional route. Your clear coat will obviously thank you later. I paint correct all my cars once a year before reapplying a new protection and I can say obviously the softness of the clear plays a role, but with equal care those that had less contact usually end up in a much better shape in the spring when it's time to prepare them for the summer.
Ultra Black Sponge holding up well for me. Be a while before have to get another one, but this one looks interesting
Wow that brings back memories. Lake Country must have had leftovers to sell off. Adam’s and Autogeek tried these years ago and failed miserably. The foam fingers get twisted and break off after not many uses.
If you want a good sponge that will last and is ergonomic, use the Ultra Black Sponge, or The Legacy Sponge.
This is very close to the Lake Country Wash Wedge which has softer gold foam, but otherwise the same. I have one , though it's not my favorite, it does a grest job on grills.
I guess I like soap, water, and bucket with multiple mitts. I do rinseless washes when vehicle is slightly dirty or dusty. The sponge you reviewed looks kinda cool. Thanks Brian!
Have you tried out the esoteric wash sponge?
Brian which sponge do you rexommend or prefer most as you have most of the top ones. I havnt tried any
Still prefer the multiple towels method as it's no harder to clean 5 or 6 towels (if it even takes that many) as it is to clean one giant sponge, and it just makes sense to me to use a fresh side every time if you can. That being said, looks like a great design if you are in Camp Sponge, and certainly didn't appear to do any harm in this video. Not a bad option for a not-too-dirty car, which of course is what rinseless is sort of designed for anyway. Put it this way, if I were to ever get a sponge, this would be one I would consider for sure.
I find myself going rinseless more and more. cleans just as well and seems quicker
I've yet to try anything from Phoenix. Some of their products sound compelling. Is Phoenix the manufacturer or someone else?
Brian, you should give the manufacturer a heads up before you post your videos, that way they can stock the demonstrated product. 😂
You have a tremendous following, for good reason.
I like using soap wash if it’s really dirty. But I use rinseless if I washed my car a week or two ago and it’s not dirty and hasn’t been through a rain storm
I have been going rinseless more an more myself.
Brian, where do you get the clear buckets for the rinseless wash? I can't find nything with handles like this. Thanks for all your reviews and instruction!
I believe they are from a food prep restaurant supply store in his home town.
$15 is a pricey sponge but the price beats the competition.
What coating was applied to this vehicle prior to the rinseless wash (if any) weeks/months before?
Rinseless wash is one thing I want to try during the winter. But I am afraid that it will scratch my car here in NEPA with all the salt
Adams used to sell this year's ago
Rinseless if I can get away with it but I do it a bit backwards. I soak the car down with the wash solution then I have a big soft MF towel that's got very big deep fluffy nap that I use for an initial wipe off then switch to a waffle weave drying towel to do the final drying wipe. This lets the solution soak a little bit as I work around the car and since I have hard water I mix my waterless solution with distilled but doing buckets of distilled is a bit of a waste. I mix the wash a little strong so it's more lubed up as I clean, seems to do fine to not mar this way and uses less water and solution too. If there's actual dirt and grit then it needs bucket washing and the hose or a pass through the local touchless wash first, sometimes paying $5 for that is a better value to get the heavy dirt off before wiping the grime away.
I like the idea of multiple MF towels. My observation, just starting with rinseless, is the towels are much heavier when loaded with product, so they don't seem to glide over the surface like a sponge does, feels more like I am dragging towel over surface. Do you have any concerns about this? Just got a car with beautiful red paint, and I am challenging myself to see if I can keep it clean with little to no marring, but it will include washing it during winter when car gets quite dirty. Appreciate any feedback from any of you!
You will be just fine with multiple towels. Soak them all at once, never putting a dirty towel back in the wash bucket. Roll the towel as it picks up dirt, folding to a clean side every wipe or two. Do not forget to pre treat the panel first with rinseless, letting it dwell for a minute. In the wintertime if possible go to a coin wash and spray of the salt. Get the wheels, wheel wells and flush the chassis also. I usually drive home and do the wash in my garage unless no ones in line at the car wash.
Hi, I just bought a van which the previous owner coated the underneath with oil, that's picked up dust and dirt etc, which is virtually impossible to clean off easily. I've tried Gunk Degreaser which was useless, WD40 Degreaser - also useless, steam which had no effect, soap based products, also useless, and lastly oven cleaner which was OK, but also took the paint clean off. What would you recommend using to remove it?
I'm going to say this is a probable no for me. I don't see the benefit over using a few microfibers or even the newer sponges from TRC/DIY Detail. Looks bulky and awkward.
Microfiber has 8 sides and protip...spray it with your sprayer about half way through to get more solution on it. Before I started doing that I'd find that I'd only use like 4 sides of the towel instead of all 8. Getting it wet again without putting it in the clean solution enabled me to use all 8 sides of each towel and lowered the amount of towels I was using.
Kamikaze sponge that Esoteric sells is the best sponge in the market. Have you tried one?
@Apex Detail Messege me your address and I'll send you one to review. I have four new ones right now.
You need to try the Ultra Black Sponge, it’s purpose built for Rinseless, the esoteric one is recycled packing foam.
its rinseless for me, no garden, hose etc. Great for light dirt, only a bucket a microfiber mitt, towel and bead maker. Dont really care for marring etc, i polish/wax with aio every 6-8 months. And really i have not seen any defects that could lead to stop rinseless washing.
I prefer a deep clean every 2-3 weeks and a foam+ rinseless the other time
I've seen this sponge before🤔
Rinseless for Dusty bucket for dirty
Not for me. As another poster said, no wash is preferable to waterless/rinseless wash for me
I know its probably safe but I just cant bring myself to do a rinseless wash!!!!!!
The wheel should not be reinvented
I will stick to it rather no wash than a no rinse wash.
Not for me
I bet if you use pure water with a plain mf towel doing gentle moves, you will not see any scratches on a white panel from the first time.
But if you do this every time with heavy dirt and on another color, you will see the disaster for sure.
First!!!
More and more detailers and enthusiasts are using rinseless or waterless washes.... which are you? Bucket wash.....or Rinseless?
Rinseless all day every day. Haven’t owned a soap in years. I still use a pressure washer for almost every detail
Big fan of the rinseless with Hydra or Absolute.
I’ll never give up either one of them as I like both. I have 6 gallons on diy detail rinseless and tend to use it more than soap. Soap is definitively more fun and is eye candy but rinseless is just more efficient and faster.
Use for slightly soiled vehicles only. Power washing and 2 bucket method as usual for maintenance washes.
I live in an apartment with no outside hose or electrical hookup/access so I've been rinseless the last 5 years for maintenance washes but we go to DIY carwash 2x a year for a full decontamination and application of surface protection.
