The horror actually can be simplified due to the setting, the soldier is in a trench and might have had to endure either poison gas or has ptsd and is imagining the monster being there, or the monster is a German.

You won’t just become mist or get blow to pieces by a grenade, if you’re right on top of it, maybe, but people have also survived that.
Truly. After watching loads of gameplays, all the fear is from the actual presence of the monster rather than some loud noises and spooky corridors. Just hearing that it's close puts everyone on edge, even though it's not even loud. Just that little growl it seems to make when alerted.

A Machine for Pigs was a pretty big step back, but still unmistakably Amnesia. Rebirth was very experimental, and not all of its mechanics stuck the landing. The worst thing Rebirth did was pull a Highlander 2 and over-explain everything, ruining a lot of the mystique of past titles. The Bunker seems to be striking a nice balance of new and familiar, so I have high hopes for this one.

It's the most Amnesia out of all the Amnesia sequels, which is weird considering it's made from an entirely different studio, but it's much shorter in length, and a lot more fast paced in revealing it's hand. Good or bad seems to still be a debate to this day, I personally liked it, if only because the imagery of the machine for pigs itself being absolutely horrific and a good horror setting.
Pyrocynical really do be revving that loud-ass jet engine of a flashlight when the monster is 3.6 centimeters away from him and then gets surprised it aggros.
The german asks you to shoot him so he wont die by the monster in a brutal way, the fact I understood what he was saying when pyro gassed him kinda made me feel bad

Some of these need to have a live Chat reaction, the number of times we told him he didn't check the two dogtags he picked up and put down is genuinely infuriating. EVEN THE GAME TOLD HIM HE DIDN'T CHECK AND HE STILL DIDN'T REALISE.
You can actually drag boxes and barrels to the holes of the monster, blocking the monster from actually getting out. Helped me a whole bunch while playing, lol.
Make sure you actually drag it to the hole, because I had a couple of occasions where the monster managed to get through because I didn't make the box actually block the hole.

I thought Rebirth was underrated. A good mixture of Lovecraft and Barker. Trench warfare has so much potential for horror. It truly was hell on earth. Rats trying to eat you alive. Shellshock. Trench foot. Meager rations.The birth of chemical warfare. It also took months to move a few hundred feet forward. Corpses left on the battlefield for weeks/months. Smell of death everywhere. Pure hellish nightmare.
And given Amnesia's thing with having its monsters manifest from suffering and torment, the trenches and bunkers of WW1 is a great setting for something truly horrific.
Rebirth and Soma had great stories but could’ve had more interesting gameplay. And Dark Descent had great gameplay. Bunker seems to be combining both to be the best game yet! Although soma and rebirth still fucking rock tbh

I was like you until I got Beat Saber. That game made me enjoy exercise for the first time in my entire life. It takes a while to get good enough until you can play the fast stuff though, it'll only really be good cardio when you get to that point. But then it's gonna be REALLY good cardio.
I like to think this game take place in same universe as the 'Der Unbekannte Krieg' (yes that WW1 dinosaur game). Similar premise of PTSD and otherworldly elements in the theme.
When playing the demo of this game I realized that when you pull out the stop watch and look up, it makes the stopwatch come closer to your face so you can see the time better.
Since the source of horror this time is something so eldritch in nature as The French, the game provides the player with a gun so they can at the very least live in a false sense of security, believing that they might have some semblance of a fighting chance. Or maybe the idea of being able to carry around the means of escaping the mortal coil from the hands of The French can offer some relief.
The "I think I'm a god gamer" part killed me so bad, cuz you had just found a way around a spot I couldn't figure out, but then died to a trap that I triggered and avoided taking damage from because I was being cautious xD
08:30 - don't get shredded prolonged, just get that body healthy to perform (fast 5ks if u like running, sweet deadlift if you like powerlifting, nice cleans if you like weightlifting, insane number of pullups if you like that etc) - you can always shred down for a shooting from what feels like 15% bodyfat to about 10 and look insane but permanent hunger makes you become the bunker monster

The removal of the sanity system actually makes sense, since not only are you a traumatized soldier in WW1, you're also french.
