Junior Vasquez totally missed the point in Madonna's vision of Mysticism. This version nails it. Sufism sounds should have been incorporated into it but this is perfect :) I heard the video was inspired by a surrealist painting. Mark Romanek nailed it by making such a beautiful visual presentation :)

I agree 110%! It's almost, almost, better than the song itself. I grew up with Madonna, I was 13 in 1983 when "Everybody" was just a song by some girl named Madonna, and there is no other recording artist who's music I like more than hers. This is her best f'ng song of her career. And I always liked the fact that Bjork wrote it for her to record.
I was 24 yo & living in NYC when this song/album dropped. I remember hearing it for the first time on MTV via the video obviously and the radio stations weren't playing it probably because they didn't know what to do with the song ("club music" wasn't yet mainstream and therefore not played on the primarily Hip Hop & still very Alternative Rock dominated radio top 40 stations) so MTV and VH1 played the video, which I thought was awesome. By this time I like most people my age were getting more or less "Madonna'd out" having spent the last 10 years living in a very Madonna dominated world (there was a time when she was the most famous woman on the planet. There were 4 women back then that everyone knew and heard about almost daily - Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth, Janet Jackson, & Madonna) but this video for one was like no other I'd seen before. It was cool. Very cool. It's dated now but back then it had some ground breaking special affects. And I really dug the song too. It was different for her. And it wasn't something anyone else was doing. Almost immediately it was being played in the clubs and the remixes were pretty fantastic. I had the first CD of remixes that was released a couple years later and they were amazing. But this remix, blows me away. I'm 51 yo and House, Trance, High Energy Dance music was my thing in my mid to late 20's thru early to mid 30's from the mid 90's into the early 2000's and it was just a matter of time before the song and whoever mixed it would finally meet up and make a f'ing awesome sound!
The remix CD I bought back in the late 90's I was referring to: Junior Vasquez Bedtime Stories Remixes (1995).
I didn't realize it was THAT long ago! 28 years!! And still sound fresh as ever!

When my daughter was born November 23 1992 this album that original version of this song had come out I think it was before she was born but anyway she ended up within a month being colicky very badly I was desperate I couldn't calm her down but I put this song on and I sang it with Madonna and next she's asleep finally!!! Then I had to use this ever time I needed to calm her then eventually she stopped and this helped me!!!! I'm loven this version I love this remix sooooooo much thank you it takes me back ✌️🤟❣️
