I went to Katmai in July. It was amazing!! The 2 airplanes we took to get there were the smoothest rides and landings we had on our whole trip! Brooks Falls is incredible! So many bears! The dang white sox flies were no joke. Prepare for that. I came back bloody! You'll have a blast!!!
Summer 2024 we drove Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica. With that success under our belts I have finally convinced my husband to drive from central California to Alaska via the Alaska Highway ending in Anchorage. I loved that you gave me a whole day itinerary for when we are in Anchorage! It sounds wonderful. Would cherish any other tips you might have!
I loved meeting you at Mt. McKinley Princess. Thanks again for the card and stickers. Also, thank you for the positive note, it got me a SuperStar sticker.
Wow I just googled Katmai never heard of looks so cool! I live in Fl but took my 1st Alaska cruise last yr and already thinking about booking for 2025 it truly is breathtaking there !!
We not coming until 2026, but now you've got me noodling about flying in a day earlier and doing your suggested day trip--animals, glacier, beer and food--what's not to love?
It sounds like you have a great plan for 2025. I have no plans. I’m just going to wing it. I went on one trip this year and it was a first we drove from Indiana to Wyoming. And we stopped at Mt Rushmore so that was fun. 😊
Also at Portage, the very short walk to Byron Glacier is amazing! As well as the Trail of the Blue Ice, starting from the Portage Visitor Center, I believe there are loops of different lengths, absolutely beautiful!
Sherry that sweater is a beautiful color for you! We are on our first trip to Canada and Quebec surprised us by being strictly French speaking. We also saw Niagara Falls, first time! Our 2025 plans are a trip to Alaska so we need to know what is the first area we should visit, we may be driving our RV so we will need an RV park preferably a KOA
Sherri Beth, you look so good in that color sweater and the earrings are a perfect touch 😊 Adam, love your shirt 😉 ( don’t want to leave you out 🤪) we all enjoyed your summer adventures, thanks for sharing…I look forward to winter in Alaska ( arm chair style 🤗) Missy will always be missed but hold a special place in your hearts❤
Although I lived in Anchorage for 12 years, I had never gone on the 26 Glacier Cruise out of Whittier. I came up last fall for a work meeting (and family time) and we went on that trip in late Sept., it was expensive but it was worth it. We had unusually stunning weather! I think there is a discount for Alaska residents. We had friends come up to visit and we did do the cruise out of Seward, but the Whittier trip was amazing!
Love your vlogs…..it’s funny that you mentioned the free itinerary day in anchorage in 2025 because my husband and I just finished finalizing our air travel for our Alaskan cruise tour with celebratory cruise next year in august. We fly out from Chicago on July 31st and we return home to Chicago from anchorage at 1145 pm on august 14th, so we have a whole day of what are we going to do, maybe anchorage museum? But I like your idea, so I might run with that…..thanks for all that you and Sherri do from your friend in Illinois.
I’m coming back in 2025 to celebrate my birthday in the place that celebrates summer solstice more so than anywhere I’ve ever been! I’ll also get to attend a friends wedding while I’m there, as well as visiting other friends I haven’t seen in much too long. Also hoping to get to stay at a princess Lodge or two, and maybe take the train to one. And, hoping you’ll join me on a princess cruise when I leave Alaska!💕💕
We (my husband, our school aged daughters, and I) are actually going to Fairbanks in October for a few days along with my parents- attempting to see the Northern Lights which is one of the last things on their bucket list! I'm a little nervous about how cold it's going to be- we live in CA and don't own that much winter wear. (My parents live in TN) We've only previously been to Alaska during the summer on cruises. Also, the way the timing worked out, we are going to be spending my birthday flying home. So I'd like to celebrate my birthday that weekend too, but I have no idea how.
Hello my friends! I’m a fairly new subscriber from the DC area and absolutely love your content! I am a travel agent and happened to stumble upon your discovery princess videos as I was looking for information for my upcoming large group cruise on Princess in September next year. Any chance you guys will be around I would love to buy you both a coffee! 😊 ps. I love that Sherri works for Princess! What area does she work in may I ask? Keep up the wonderful work and videos! Your newest fan! Lori
Katmai entry used to be limited and chosen by lottery. I recently heard that there are cruise excursions that go there. I also recently heard from people who visited, is that it's really crowded. I'm not sure exactly what changed.
I'm visiting Alaska for the first time in May via a Princess cruise ship. I'm interested in reading a lot about Alaska history ahead of my cruise. Any book recommendations?
When on an Alaskan cruise (Disney) are you close enough for cell coverage? How's the cell service in the cruise ports? Do most North American plans work up there?

I cackled when you said, "No, not a viewer cruise!" I wasn't going to ask, but I was thinking it.

Would definitely like to have a bear fly the plane. Maybe Winnie the Pooh, Bongo the bear, Baloo, the Gummi Bears etc.

I'm just trying to get to Alaska this year. I've been diagnosed with cancer and This is something I need to do.
Oh I would have loved to go on the glacier excursion with you and your friends! That sounds exciting and they look so darn cool!
Yeah, they were ok, KIDDING! They are the best!

Thank you! Spring at Woodlands in Ketchikan made my earrings! She has more for sale in the store!
Have you thought about the water taxi from King Salmon to Katmai? That might help with the fear of small planes.
Love your videos.
We have considered the water taxi, but we've heard it can be un-reliable. I need to look more into it!

I'd love to stay at the Kenai Princess. Seeing the hotel up on the hill on the way to the Kenai, it looks really beautiful!

VISIT BEARS?! Pick me! Pick me! I will find a way to get to Alaska! Just tell me when!
What is the best cruise itinerary you can recommend? In other words what are the best ports to go to?
No future Disney cruises or trips planned?!
None currently planned, but we may have a little Disney adventure planned before the end of the year :)
Name of the bear walk place???
