I did a governor spring, it really did make a difference for stock drivability

My truck pulls to 3500 with a stock gov spring. Just had to max the throttle linkage travel to get it.

Please test the monster ram vs stock on one of your sessions and post the results. If you need one I can send you one, but I would like it back.

Hey Rob, I had a question for you if you had a second.
My ve pumped 12 valve is having an of issue where it will idle down to about 500rpm and acts like it is missing. Most of the time reving the engine will fix this issue. The truck recently shut off on me after idling low again. Come to find out that was a loose fss connection, at least I hope. It hasn’t done it since. But I still get an intermittent issue with the idle. It’s almost like it’s missing.
Pump has been turned up, fuel pin, silver bullet plunger, oversized lift pump, 75hp injectors from pdd. Timing has been advanced 2 teeth. 24v oil pump. I run my idle at 750 in drive. 3200rpm spring. 0:43
I’m kinda stumped on this one since it so intermittent. A hard pull in od has the best chance of triggering it. Sometime when it is left alone while it’s having idling issues it will slowly regain rpm.
Any input would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you!

Got a question for you. My 1991 first gen is having troubles with oil pressure. When it's warmed up and I'm decelerating, it almost dies coming to a stop and the oil pressure gauge drops to nothing. But pressing back on the throttle picks the gauge back up to the line before half. The motor's got 400k miles on it is what I was told. Any information would be great! Thanks

Any thoughts on Medium duty trucks???
Like improvements on air, fuel, exhaust just for longevity sakes, I'm fine with it running the way it does, it's a putter and it can go 75 on the beltway.
I thought about taking off the front of motor to address that ( KDP) change out the water pump while there and do the thermostat.
I seen something on the heater grid bolt.
    Its a 1999 F-800 with a 5.9 Cummins
And it runs just fine, located here in Baltimore MD,but need to travel to western Pa with those 6% grades.

I've had a few F800's in commercial fleets, you can do the basics like you think. First move is to make sure you're starting with a well built crate or rebuilt, not hot rodding an old tired engine. Are you thinking of the 6.7 issue with the heater grid bolt? The thing with the F800 is the fact that it is not like an F350. The diffs and the transmission are medium duty. The best performance bet is to improve the transmission. If it's a 5 speed Allison automatic, the upgrade would be a 6 speed. If it's a manual transmission, how many gears? If it's a 6 speed, you may want a 9 or 10 speed to give you more choice for those hills. A 10 speed is a 5 speed around town, but the splits really help on those hills. Rear end gears appropriate for the mountains can kill you on the flats depending on your load and vice versa. If you're not on long hauls, a middle of the road rear end ratio will make a difference.
