the Austin Osman Spare is a beautiful deck that is a 'Sandra made me do it' purchase...along with the books @SpiritofAvalon
Lost Envoy edited by Jonathan Allen and a biography by Phil Baker. The deck is a beautiful copy of the original and Strange Attractor Press have done an amazing job of bringing Spare's work to life again.

Hello Giselle! The cards are slightly bigger than they are in reality to make the details more legible. Some of the motifs in the deck join up together which further shows the connection between the cards.
I don’t know if the deck was ‘finished’ but the version in the Magic Circle, which I understand may have been for AOS’s own use, was missing the Strength card. Fortunately a black and white version of the card had been previously photographed - and the deck contains a faithful reproduction of that image.

@@madwitch9977 I bought the lost envoy years ago but have not had a chance to work with the deck, having only recently received it. But it feels like a truly Magickal object, a mystery to be unravelled. Always love your videos

@@houseofhag it's so affordable...I'm very sad to see decks priced at astronomical prices and this deck on it's own is absolutely perfectly priced...I totally respect these creators for giving affordable options x

What an interesting deck, it feels so personal. I seem to remember something in The Golden Dawn book about initiates having to create their own decks. I wonder whose else could be out there, still waiting to be found?? 🤔

Ok, on the fence with this one. I once brought an old deck of bicycle playing cards with the intention of scribing and drawing but never did. It feels like a step back in time 💕
We can't all like the same decks which is absolutely fine isn't it. I do hope you grab that deck out and have a go at your own ! much love Gx
