    I could kick myself for not buying all of these premium re-prints back in 2013. Every single one of them from first edition and second edition were there for the taking and I hesitated, and I missed out. Great review as always! Both of my toddlers know your intro music very well.

      @richmcgee434 4 роки тому

      Seconded. Maybe Superworld, Ringworld and/or Worlds of Wonder too, as long as we're digging up older and lesser-known Chaosium RPGs. Lot of good stuff there. Hawkmoon and Stormbringer might make a good double review - systems are similar and they're both Moorcock settings.

    I have the POD of this, but have yet to read it (A0, that is). It seems a great addition to the classic series. I wish they'd made a few edits to the whole campaign path when they released the omnibus, streamlining the villains, elevating some like Marquessa to overarching foes, dropping clues in each that lead the party to the next module, etc.; but that would ultimately have changed the original modules and I doubt many would be pleased with that. Of course, that doesn't stop an enterprising DMs from making the series their own, and tailoring it as they see fit. Personally, I love the series.
    Great review, as always. We can only hope that this quarantine lasts forever if you're going to continue releasing this much more content! Just kidding. :)

    Great review. A minor quibble with the content in the final summary. DriveThruRPG's reprint of the premium modules for this and S1-4 are softcover. They aren't as nice as the WOTC version but are much more affordable.

    Finally a module that makes sense. If the PC's are defeated they are chained and enslaved, perfectly in keeping with the theme. Cap, did the module mention if the PC's happen to get enslaved if loincloths are provided?

    • @captcorajus

      @@captcorajus I'm actually surprised that more modules don't put the PC's into naked situations. It is all theatre of the mind so modesty isn't a real concern, plus it "could" make for some interesting role-playing if done maturely.

    First off, love these reviews, very well done and informative to me. I'm DMing these for one player (my brother) who's playing 4 characters. I'm modifying it to 5E as I go. Bro pointed me to these as we're only about half way through A0. I got the A0 maps from Schley and hoping Pinter releases the other adventure maps sooner before later. A question: I know you like the inclusion of the Elder Elemental Eye, but I'd prefer the priests found here to tie into the rest of the series (and further). The somewhat vague reference to the Earth Dragon could work for me, but I'm also considering a deity like Beltar, which could roll into adventures in the Pomarjj (it's set in the lead up to the Greyhawk Wars, wanting to follow it up with Turrosh Mak being the main villian).

      The cool thing about Greyhawk is that is so open ended, you can make it how you want. :)

    Great video and amazing channel! I'd love to hear your thoughts on Pathfinder 2E, since it's the latest iteration of D&D and, accorsinf to the superficial reading I've done, it's quite interesting, simpler and more modern than 3.5. Also, Paizo makes great modules and their Campaign setting is second to none, I'm sure you would like it. I'm currently using that campaign setting on my 5e Campaign.
    BTW, I started buying old D&D content on DTRPG thanks to you videos, would love to see a review of any Al-Qadim book or maybe the original DrAgonlance modules.
    All the best from Chile!

    • @captcorajus
      @captcorajus  4 роки тому +2

      If Paizo is willing to comp me some books, I'd do it. lol. Its not exactly 'old school' however. As I've said before I HATE trying to read from a PDF. I like solid pages in my hand. One of the reasons i've not finished the City of Brass review is because I only have a PDF of the book.
      We'll see.

    • @felipeopazomusic
      @felipeopazomusic 4 роки тому

      @@captcorajus I think your audience numbers are good, and more importantly, there's a lot of "engagement", I'm sure Paizo would be pleased to send you copies of the Pathfinder 2E line, I guess you just gotta ask. And I know it's not "old school", but since you've covered pretty much every step of the history of D&D so far, it makes sense.
      BTW, are you familiar with Forbidden Lands (from Free League), it's another mix of old school meets new school and seems great.
