Thanks for the video! This 3 year work experience requirement is unclear. As 186 is not a point tested stream, do you mean its ones overall work experience or the number of years that has been equated by ACS? For example someone who has a total work experience of 5 years as ICT BA but ACS has assessed it relevant for 2 years only due to non-ICT qualification, what will be considered by DHA for 186 processing.
Hi Deepan, THanks for getting in touch and great question! The three years is in relation to all post-qualification experience. If the skill assessment is completed by ACS then the requirement is that you have at least 3 years of employment AFTER completion of your degree as experience at the appropriate skilled level and relevant to the nominated occupation. For 186DE you can ignore the part where it says 'The following employment after X date is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level and relevant to ANZSCO Code XXXXXX' as this is only relevant for 189/190 visas. I hope that helps and please don't hesitate to get in touch with our team directly if you have any further questions
@@techvisa_ You are a true ROCKSTAR!!! VISA expert folks like you make things so much easier and more transparent with this kind of clarity and direction unlike these day where most VISA "experts" run on gimmicks! Thanks again...keep doing the great job!
Hey, thanks for the awesome video 🎉🎉🎉. Quick question though, does a developer programmer looking for a 186 DE visa need a formal/provisional registration/membership licence certificate from ACS Australia?
Hi Anish, thanks for getting in touch! You will need a positive skills assessment from ACS in order to lodge an application for a Subclass 186 in the Direct Entry Stream. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions.
Hi Beena, good question. Generally speaking you need to have been living in Australia for 4 years and have held a PR visa for the last 12 months before you apply.
Hi Jack, granted you meet the relevant requirements etc. The 186 is a great option as it can offer a direct pathway to PR. Also the Employer Sponsored subclasses provide more certainty opposed to going down the independent/state sponsored routes. Feel free to get in touch with our team directly if you do have any specific questions.

Is the 186 still the best route for tech? My employer has offered me sponsorship but wants me to look into it
