I met Jack when I was 20 years old in 1995 and he was a huge inspiration to me and helped me during a really difficult period. I saw him once a week for about 10 years and I haven't seen him since. We weren't best friends - in fact it wasn't until a few years ago that I knew how famous and what an amazing comedic talent he was (absolutely hysterical). I had no clue of how successful he was. However, we had some intimate conversations and related to each other. I enjoyed talking and listening to him a great deal. I was so sad to see that he passed and regretted not keeping in touch with him. God bless you Jack. Thanks for all the wonderful and life changing talks.
A wonderful tribute to a very talented man! His work with George Carlin, Avery Schreiber, The Muppets, “Fridays” and so much more showed the amazing depth and versatility of his comedic gifts. Thank you.
I love Jack Burns, and that love for him started with watching Andy Griffith with my father and grandfather. I instantly formed a connection to Warren, and when I looked Jack Burns up, I was very sad when I saw he had passed away before I became a fan of his, I would've loved to meet him.
For me, a child of the '60s, Jack Burns' most memorable roll was as Andy Griffith's sidekick (Warren) on the Andy Griffith Show as the replacement deputy for Don Knotts, after he left the show. I'd forgotten he was part of the comedy team of Burns and Shriver.
I didn't hear he had passed away... so sorry to hear, I was going to write him a fan letter... always loved everything he did. Thanks so much for the great tribute Tom.
My first exposure to Jack was when he voiced the cartoon character of Ralph (neighbor to Tom Bosley) on Wait 'Till Your Father Gets Home. I have liked his performance ever since. Was there some sort of service held for Jack ? I know he was originally from Boston (as my father was).
AT 85 I RECALL JACK SOOO WELL!! I JUST WATCHED A CARLIN TRIBUTE & FOUND THIS..LUCKY ME...RIP
Nice. Totally underrated performer. Heard him more than saw him growing up.
Absolute love his comedy, what a nice man too.
Wonderful tribute to a special man.
Jack Burns was a genius. The Muppet Movie remains an all time favorite. Rest easy, sir. 😢
Awesome tribute, Tom. What a talent he was.
Thanks, Roger.

Reminds me of my relationship. I met Jack when I was 20 in 1980. Glad you got to know him!

His stint as Warren Ferguson was short, but he thrived and flourished.
Thank you for the video. He was very special. Rest In Peace Jack.
Beautiful tribute, I didn’t know Jack had passed. So very sorry. At least he and Avery are together once more💕💕💕😪😪
Thank you. He was one of the best of the lovers and dreamers.

It’s nice to know another fellow Warren fan
Well done, what a nice memorial.
Beautiful job, Tom.
Thanks, Rich
This was great-Thanks for posting!
thank you
He was awesome. I’m glad after his short stint as Warren Ferguson, he was successful.
It's too bad that didn't last longer.
@@dvferyance I know. It wasn’t fair
@@bigbubba29 And it's not like the Andy Griffith show got better without him.
@@dvferyance Andy Griffith Show ended at number one. That speaks volumes.

@@IFlyPGD Hi Jeff!

There was a small, private service in Los Angeles, right before the shutdown.
I actually loathed Warren Ferguson, but Jack seems like such a sweet man! Bless his soul!
No one could replace Barney. It was a no- win role for Jack and the only one he regretted doing because of it.
He voiced Vince
Yes he did
Originally worked with George carlin
Sadly, he was never given a fair chance on the Andy Griffith Show. They wanted another Don Knotts and Jack Burns was not the same as Don Knotts.
You're right. Jack couldn't win when being compared to Don Knott's Barney.
I thought he was a loner and had no kids?
He had many close friends.
