- Melrose High School, Melrose, Massachusetts. Compilation of Super 8mm film taken to capture HS activities. Music was recorded from vinyl albums to a Realistic 909A reel-to-reel recorder and played during film playback. Years later captured on 8mm Video tape by projecting onto a WINDOW SHADE. Years later copied over to DVD then a few years after that, converted to a mp4 file. I'm surprised it survived this long! The original film was made up spliced sections which deteriorated over time. It is long gone.
Many thanks, Jim, for the hours of work with "stone knives and bear skins" available to you in 1968-9 to create this unique look back to our class in our building, Many familiar faces. Enjoyable sound track. So glad I don't have to wait five years to see this at the reunions. Job very, very well done.
I Graduated in 1965. Your video is priceless, what a great job you did of capturing MHS back in the day.
I've never seen my Dad before on video! He passed long ago and I don't remember him and I've never seen him on film before - only in a few photos. My aunt sent me this video and sent me the approximate times where Dad could be seen. Thank you for this!

The day before the game against Melrose I remember my brother talking about him and a RB named
DePaolo? My older brother was boasting that DePaolo wasn't going to fly (Apollo reference).
My brother got run over in midfield by Ralph Knight, collapsed on the field and spent two days in Melrose-Wakefield Hospital
with a neck injury.

Wonderful!! I remember the excitement of seeing it the first time at Class Night, and it is lovely to see it again.
You did a fabulous job of capturing the spirit of our class! Thanks, Jim for the memories! I never get tired of watching this spectacular film!
This building was later used in 1975 as the Melrose Middle School for a while, because another school was built right next to it, which is now the current Melrose High School, and high-schoolers relocated to that building. In 2005, the building was torn down, and replaced with a new, redesigned building which was completed in 2007, and became the current Melrose Middle School. A large piece of the old building is kept somewhere in the hallways of the new building.

What's did you get the film of the hockey game? Was that the 1969
Tourney game against Needham?
My brother was a goalie senior year 68-69 in Middlesex League
and played against that Melrose team.
