Sylosis should be headlining metal festivals. Being on everyone's library. You know...this band is just TOO GOOD. Hopefully more people get to experience SYLOSIS.
I find it funny people want amazing bands to be huge.... No way! I absolutely love seeing my favorite bands in small venues and being up close and personal. Not standing in a crowd with 50k people and get to see them like they are the size of an ant. 🤷♂️
For sure he was bored. He might have been making a pretty Penny with them too, which makes him even more respectable. His passion for metal is alive and real.

That flying V confused me too for a second, for a brief moment thought it was a guest solo. Slso by how the solo was kinda different from what he's done in a while IMO. Had som Teras vibes.
I always say that if metallica had come out in 2000, they would have been called sylosis. Their modern groovy-thrash sound is unique and every song is a masterpiece.Thanks for exist.

I don't even think I would say that either, Trivium just get labelled that way because of how vocal they were about being metallica fans and when they bought out Crusade it was a thrash album, Trivium don't sound anything like Metallica either they have thrash in there sound yeah but then they have melo death and a load of other genre's they draw from, the first 2 albums Ember and Ascendancy are about as metalcore as it gets and since then every album has been diverse and different, Shogun onwards they started using 7 strings, like I say other than the Crusade I struggle to see how people could think that

Crazy to see how much Architects brought Josh out of his shell. I remember meeting him back in like 2013 or something at a show in Bristol and I saw the band's TM backstage having to physically force him out to the stage to meet the fans and speak to people. He was always known in the scene for being sort of shy. Look at him now.
I understand now what Josh meant when he felt he limited himself in the early days of Sylosis. This feels a lot more vulger and rips. This new chapter of Sylosis is gonna cement the bands legacy as a top tier metal band that will be a must see. Can't wait!
EotE is my favorite album. It's a hard album to top. CoaA, Monolith, Dormant Heart are amazing as well. I love everything those albums have to offer, but they all were purposely limited in order for the band to develop a unique path of their own. What I mean is no breakdowns, no drop tuning, or anything associated with "metalcore" back in the day. Cycle of Suffering broke the limits Josh placed on himself and is now free to write whatever he wants knowing it will still be Sylosis.

They are my biggest inspiration and my band is in the process of releasing our first EP. We are HEAVILY inspired by Sylosis and our songs are a blend of our own style, sylosis, trivium and dream theater. We play in E standard and Sylosis is our biggest inspiration. I was so upset when they changed, Personally, I am just not a fan of their direction as I have never liked breakdowns and I prefer more progressive songs. That is what I loved about Sylosis is that they had 6 to 7 minutes songs that were progressive, thrashy and inspirational. Their new music is bloody amazing as well, but I just don't enjoy it as much and I am sad they changed. But I suppose some SYlosis is better than no sylosis!

I was kind of upset myself but at the same time how would it have sounded it they stayed their route at the time? Josh was going to end the band and start a new project but Nuclear Blast said it still sounded like Sylosis. I thought it was interesting but I felt it was true after listening to Cycle of Suffering several times. It has a more Gojira/Death feel. However, this new stuff has a lot more Pantera driven vulgar to it that I think is really needed right now. These are my two cents but was always curious how other felt.

he’s much more the modern day Chuck Schuldiner. Way too much death metal in Sylosis music to be modern day James especially because Josh is all about the harsh vocals while James is a clean singing dude.
