I think the idea today is to give you the genuine taste without the extra 600 calories and 35 grams of fat. After all we are not spending the 14 hours in the field chopping corn. Though I have to agree with you Smothered is covered in gravy!
Oh wow, Tyler is so freakin young here! I've always loved me some Tyler! Oh hey, can I have some of them chops w/ a side of ...........................Tyler! :P
Olive oil? Nooo bacon fat. Lower heat, let them brown not get black and make real cream gravy. My grandma taught me and she'd pitch a fit these weren't smothered.
This is some bullshit. I would accept this from an amateur, but a Food Chef should know better. Olive oil in a hot cast iron burns the most tasteless flavor in one's meat. Gravy thinner than Olive Oyls waist. Buttermilk as a thickner is almost questionable. Enough gravy to make everyone mad at the table. My score 4 out of 10.
I love your method of cooking - right to the point and focus on recipe. This is the Gold standard . Thank you.
I love Tyler Florence! Ever since watching him on How To Boil Water.
Smothered pork chops, definitely delicious & tasty entree.’ Love to watch Tyler cook !
Hey thanks for this. Not nearly enough cooking like this theses days. Thanks Again.
Tyler underated
Young Tyler. Little light on the smothering. We ain't on no diet, smother them pork chops.
Damn, Peter Griffin got his smothered pork chops right there! 😅😅😅
Can I substitute pork roast for chops? Can dip in seasoned flour and brown roast a bit..then in oven..can I do it?
Always liked Tyler, he was a cool guy.
I was going to smother you folks with some bad puns, but I don't want to be a pig, id probably get CHOPPED!
LOOK'D GOOD!!!!! NEEDS SOME MASHED TATERS AND PEAS TO GO WITH IT!!!!!!
got to have the taters
I think I have a different definition of “smothered”
Me & you both. I would more than triple the amount of gravy.

Me too! These are Definitely not smothered, they were just simmered in gravy.
Yum i need to try this.
They look good can't wait to eat them 👍👍
Looking good, was that a little bit of Justin Wilson in there 👍✌️
Not the good southern smothered I’m used to but looks good
Without onions are they truly smothered pork chops?
No it is not Southern style Smothered Pork Chops. Must include at least onions (yellow) and optional mushrooms 🍄
Oh wow, Tyler is so freakin young here! I've always loved me some Tyler! Oh hey, can I have some of them chops w/ a side of ...........................Tyler! :P
feel like eating.
Tyler is 14 years old!
Delicious👍
Holy yum!!
I lovvvvve tyler😍😍😍😍
Yeah, excellent cook plus he was pretty fine back in the day.
What if you don’t have buttermilk???
Olive oil? Nooo bacon fat. Lower heat, let them brown not get black and make real cream gravy. My grandma taught me and she'd pitch a fit these weren't smothered.
Not enough Gravy for me Tyler!!!! What?????
Yum 😋
Nope not my grandma's smothered pork chops! Cook in butter and oil and Were's the onions and mushrooms? And don't be stingy with the gravy!
Looks like this was not the one am looking... the pork chop was pan fried then add tarragon and reduce with the white wine!😱😝😤😊
Not enough gravy Tyler
Dude, that's not smothered. My chops gotta be covered.
1100-1200 years for cast iron pans.
Tyler seemed so annoyed to have to be his instructor.
Doesn't seem that way to me. Seems like he likes to teach.

Where’s the gravy👀👀more more more
Can’t ignore that raw flour that didn’t hit the oil on that one chop 😬
Ciara Hodge you don’t eat cookie dough either, do you? 😂
Olive oil in a use cast pan making porkchop??? Heretic!!
Brush up on your cajun French
come cook for me lol
For me Tyler IS the chop. He is so HOT! 😋
🤮🤮🤮
Not enough gravy to be calling it smothered.
I"m a fan of Tyler's but this may be the most boring pork chop recipe I've ever seen.
😁✌🖖👌👍😎
Anyone else cringe when they saw the poor state of that warped cast iron skillet?
