Love Smokey's voice. He's one of my favorite Motown singers. Saw him in Vegas in 1969. He put on an awesome show. I'm 75 yrs old, and I never get tired of listening to our baby boomer music. ❤❤❤
Smokey Robinson had a beautiful high tenor voice. So nice to see the younger generation discovering the Motown Classics!
Time for you, Smokey, and him doing "Cruisin' ", if you want more smooth.
FACTS! 💯
Yeah that's a super classic.
My favorite
My generation had the BEST music !
Couple of favourites from Smokey - Second That Emotion and Tears Of A Clown.
The first song I heard by Smokey Robinson was, "The love I so in you was just a Mirage".
After hearing that I was addicted to his music.
Such a lyrical genius he is...
Definitely one of the best soul songs ever made. This song is pure gold
Ooh Baby Baby is one of the smoothest Smokey songs. Watch the live 1964 version.
you got that right - NOBODY sings like Smokey. Right through the heart, man, every time.
Smokey....def one of the best of any decade! Smooth....
I went to a handicapped school 2 miles from Motown & when the artists weren't on the road they'd just drop in & visit. Part of most of our school supplies included autograph book. All of the Motown singers were awesome. Barry Gordy sure had a nack for picking out GREAT talent.
A legendary song and voice
Smokey Robinson…..always amazing!
Smokey Robinson is a true legend. So much talent.
Smokey puts on a great show and sounds great live. His voice is smooth and true. Loved him in the early 70’s when he came to my town. Love him today check out the performance videos. He’s absolutely a legend.
I LOVE watching someone really enjoy a song that I think is super special
This song is over 50 years old, if people recommend it they must it liked for a long time. I remember this as a kid as well as oldie as I aged.
One reason it’s always so smooth is it’s the same band for the majority of the Motown music. They were called The Funk Brothers. Different vocal artists, same amazing band.
I absolutely love Smokey. ❤️❤️❤️
Check out Smoky on “Live from Daryl’s House”. He’s older and sings with the great blue eyed soul singer Daryl Hall. It’s fricking amazing!!
I was a room service waiter back in the early 80's in Milwaukee and delivered dinner to Smokey's room one evening. He offered the joint he was smoking as I waited for him to sign his tab. Very cool gentleman. Hung out and smoked the rest of it with him. Great tipper, as well. ;)
Motown was a genre in and of itself.
And Motown music is a DEEP rabbit hole well worth crawling into!
Excellent channel.
Love your reactions to Motown. Cruisin is a good one 💯🔥
New to your channel. Smokey and Aretha did a live duet of Ooh Baby,Baby that I know you would really enjoy.
Their harmonies are beautiful together.
Smokey is everything!
Being with You has been a favorite since I was a child. 🧡
Thank you! Loving Motown Mondays!
Love Smokey Robinson...bad dude definitely 😁
MOTOWN played consistently on the BIG 8 CKLW back in the day. It was this white boys introduction to soul,r&b and jazz. Living across the river from Detroit we were well taught by Hitsville USA.
Smokey was the smoothest of the smooth. Try "I Second That Emotion" next. Smokey also wrote "My Girl" by the Temptations, the smoothest of all the Motown songs.
Smokey wrote a literal f@%k ton of great Motown songs, especially for the Supremes.
Ohhh. Smokey Robinson. The smoothest singer ever. Please listen to Cruising.
It's just more fun listening to my favorite music when I get to watch your facial expressions!
One Of The Greatest Songs In American History My Dude Smokey Robinson Was A Beast With The Pen & The Vocals One Of The Greatest Songwriters Known To Man
there will never be nothing like the Motown sound!!
My fav!! There's no one like Smokey...sooooo smooth!!
Again, watch all of Motown acts live. You have to watch them singing and dancing.
These are songs we still jam. It just gives you a good feeling even though it's about lost love.
Smokey's, " Quiet storm and cruising" give that same feeling. Among many just two off the top of my noodle 😂
Check out a "companion song" called "Tears of A Clown" featuring Smokey and friends :)
Motown and other oldies was great music and no one will ever make music like it since then. I love that you really like this music. It warms my heart.
The sound of a generation !
I love, love, love Motown Monday! You may be the only reactor who focuses on Motown.
I was in my late 20s, in the 90s, & knew nothing of this genre. I lived in a new town with no friends. A radio station in this town focuses on this genre. I was flabbergasted at how good it all was! Back then, CD clubs was a thing. You'd sign up to belong to a CD club. They'd send you 10 CD, of your choosing, really cheap. Then, you were supposed to let them send you a CD every month for a very big charge on your credit card. If you canceled soon after they sent the cheap promotion CDs, you could build your collection really cheap. Anyway....I'd blindly request Motown "Best Of" CDs just knowing I'd love 'em: Aretha Franklin, Percy Sledge, Shirelles, Temptation, The Supremes, Jackson 5, Martha & the Vandallas, etc.
I love, love, love MoTown Monday!
Please do Smokey’s “Cruisin” next!!! It’s crazy 🔥
you need to hear the one called "fork in the road" by smokie.. Real Smooth!!
YES ,YES ,YES PLEASE
Great to hear you’re getting interested in Motown. One thing that I feel should be a consideration is the live performances were unique. The choreography was superb. Check it out, it’s a lost art!
I loved Smokey! In college 70s I used to play class clown offering " I do a great Smokey Robinson impression, but don't expect Miracles." Can't carry a tune but alone in my car I pretend I can. You will probably enjoy it all Twon! Thanks for the attentive reaction!
I am so, so, so happy. My day has been made, Motown Forever!! I don’t even
care who you react to…just thrilled you are here. ❤️🔥 Twon forever!! ❤️🔥
The Ronettes, wall of sound. A song called Be My Baby.
Yesssssssss...smooth green eyed smokey robinson. You should hear his song with Anderson paak "make it better"
Smokey is the King of Motown.
We grew up with Motown on the radio. Sad that most black people in the USA
Smokey...........❤
Tears of a Clown is my favorite JS
I'll put my request in again for Smokey and Charlie Wilson All of my Love 🎶🎵
For your next Miracles song, I recommend "Tears of a Clown".
Smokey had a great voice. I used to sing along with the Miracles. Unfortunately my voice is deeper as I've gotten older. Used to be a first soprano now a second soprano. It was a time that brought people together over music. White people loved Motown as much as black people did. Now we are so divided as a nation. I pray for God to heal all our wounds. And bring us together as Americans. Hallelujah!
Motown prided themselves in smooth ease 🎵 music
You need to check out “Tears Of A Clown,” “I Second That Emotion” and “Cruisin’.” You will love them!
I wish you had seen a live recording of this song. It’s fun to see it this way.
You should give a listen to cruising by Smokey Robinson too it's in one of his stuff songs from the '80s these other ones are mostly from the '60s I think some maybe somewhere from the 50s even but Smokey's got a big catalog of music and he wrote most of the stuff for the people at Motown too
Adam Lambert did a great cover of this song.
Love Motown! Smokey is the smoothest.
If you're looking for rougher-edged Motown from this period, try Edwin Starr's "25 Miles to Go," or Jr. Walker & the All-Stars' "Shotgun." It's all good.
A while back one of the UK radio stations did an all day special of the 100 greatest Motown songs. I listened to most of it cos I grew up loving Motown music. Every song was great. Wonder if you can guess who was number 1?
Bob Dylan called him a great American poet. This song is a prime example.
Love Smokey and your reactions! You would enjoy checking out the episode of Smokey Robinson on "Live from Darryl's House" on line. Please react to "Have You Seen Her" by the Chi Lites and "Everybody Plays The Fool" by The Main Ingredient" (actor Cuba Gooding Jr's father is the lead singer of The Main Ingredient).
Loving your reactions! There's a lot more Smokey and for more smooth try some Jerry Butler ( I need to belong to someone), Sam Cooke, Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions to name a few
Tears of a Clown great too!
...just like Pagliacci did
I try to keep my surface hid..."
Please react to their song, ooh baby baby- live.
Listen to Ebony Eyes with Smokey Robinson and Rick James 🔥🔥
A very close, non-Motown, vocalist is Deon Jackson “Love Makes the World go Round”
Don’t forget the ladies of motown
standing in the shadows of motown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Smokey Robinson and Rick James "Ebony Eyes "
look at the interview on the breakfast club No Limit Twon

Listen to Smokey sing "Cruisin" please!
Check out this live version ua-cam.com/video/UCAkvvWvt_4/v-deo.html The gentleman playing the guitar is the late Marv Tarplin, who composed the music for this and many of the other hits the Miracles recorded.
Yes you should react act to interview and movies also
#NoLimitNation
Do cruisin by Smokey Robinson. Thank you
Please! Please! Please! Do SQUIRM by Dave Matthews Band
Check out Ooh baby baby
Look up Eddie Kendricks.
always been curious if it feels bad that a whiteboy from WV knows more about Motown than most young black folks?
Michael Jackson high …sorta …
I’m loving Motown Monday! I’m going to suggest again that you watch the documentary Standing in the Shadows of Motown. In your spare time, of course. The reason is none of the classic Motown groups were “bands”. They were primarily vocal groups backed by the best session musicians in Detroit, maybe the world. Check it out✌🏻
The group that evolved into the Miracles included two friends that Smokey had been singing with since they were 11 years old. A pair of cousins joined and one had a sister who sang with a girl group who was associated with Smokey's group. Claudette Rogers switched over and later married Smokey and they became the Miracles. Smokey eventually left to become Motown's vice president.
After Berry Gordy, he was the most important person in the history of Motown.
The Stevie Wonder catalogue alone is gonna make Motown Monday fantastic. Let alone all of the other great artists!
Love Motown!! Too many good artists to count! Smokey was definitely one that they were glad to claim!! More please !!!😍😍😍
In addition to having one of the sexiest voices ever, take a listen to Smokey's solo hit "Crusin' ", Smokey Robinson is considered one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th Century.
Smokey, the guy who invented cool
I love this song! I sang it at Karaoke years ago! It’s one of my favorite songs by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles ❤️
That was the love in the lyrics you dont get anymore. R&B today lacks the voice and the message they dont have the Soul except Chris Brown.
For many years, the group was 0:46 simply known as “THE MIRACLES”
With nobody’s name upfront.
Cruisin-Smokey Robinson and the Miracles
Can’t Get Next To You-The Temptations
As-Stevie Wonder
Check out another Motown group, 'SWITCH' "There'll Never Be," and I Wanna Be Closer!" I guarantee you will love them!!!
Been listening to Smokey for 55 years! Do yourself a favor and listen to "Cruising" and "The Love I Saw In You Was Just A Mirage". You will dig it the most!
You should check out Adam lambert cover on idol of this. Smokey was impressed, he was mentoring
Can you do
Blake Shelton- "The Baby"
