I'm a new viewer (just finding your new Monaco race video yesterday), and I've been binge watching your F1 2016 career series. So much fun, awesome work and keep up the amazing content!
I like the fact that you are uploading the episodes so fast. It just proves that F1 2016 is way more fun, that you are enjoying it a lot more, and so are we. I appreciate this specially because it means that we won't have to wait 1 year until that Manor gets to the front row ;)
My problem with this game. I went through a few quick races to see what sort of difficulty I should drive one. I found Expert to be ideal. Start up career. Join Manor. Qualify 19th for Albert Park. Finish 8th (largely due to my tyre management). Bahrain. Qualify 17th. Overtake the whole field in the first couple corners. Keep Hamilton behind me until his pit stop (DRS and all). I drive clean the whole race and am able to finish 2nd. Despite having either a Red Bull or Mercedes right up my gearbox. Nico Rosberg wins the race ahead of me by 45 seconds. I was 1-2 seconds a lap slower than the guy who won the race. I finish second. I maintained 2nd position by making clean overtakes in the corners following DRS straights. THE POINT is that my lap times are the pace of someone driving a 15th-22nd placed car. But for whatver reason, the AI can't make a maneuver stick.
I'm in a Renault.. Started the season well and vettel started poorly, and he is now my rival and is destroying my rep with my team! How the fuck am I supposed to beat him
Rosberg smashed his rear wing twice reversing lol. He should have lost a rear tyre I think. That VSC bug is brutal, they shouldn't count your delta in sector 3, because if you're that close to the line its an auto penalty.
Points on ultimate AI...that Manor is pretty fast but I would say that you have developed your car faster than the competition has which is why you are getting better pace early. Keep tuning etc. Also so you know, you have inspired me to get a system, and the game, and start creating content for my channel so keep that up. See you at the races! There's nothing to fix here. Mate he's trying to take Manor all the way to the top. It's part of the game to do development and improve the car. But you can opt of this as well in which case the Manor will stay a backmarker team. Taking a backmarker to the top is the main reason Ben chose Manor. Expect to see better results than 9th in the upcoming races from him.
Matt 93 I do agree with that. But it is unrealistic that over the course of just 3 races Manor goes from a backmarker team to fighting for points every week. That would never happen and needs to be fixed....
The VSC gives you a range to keep within so Ben got a penalty for going too slow. You can see the warning pops up again and disappears as he picks up speed.
I think the driver of the day thing is based on how good the team is and where a driver ends. For example a manor in the points and all the other teams at the place they should be.
There's a glitch on F1 2016 that stops AI from overtaking under yellow flags even if the car in front is the one causing the yellow flag. That's why Pascal slowed behind Button and there were cars stopped on track when there was a VSC. Bottas had stopped on track and they didn't want to go past.

Maybe its just me but i think the AI is just too slow, especially into turn 1 on most tracks on the first lap, you go straight up the inside and gain at least 5 - 6 places every time guaranteed
Mad respect for that finish. It seems like it does require a decent bit of luck though to get a resuult as good as this. So if it is going to be very luckdependant for the rest of the season to score points the road to glory will seem rocky and realistic, which imo it should.
Much better on ultimate difficulty. Massive luck with the crash but 7 laps of not catching a car in a Manor is realistic if not completely entertaining. This career mode for me is about seeing you progress the car not get podiums in the first season.
I'd like to see Codemasters implement a quick race option like on F1 Championship Edition so you can decide the grid. What I used to do was place them all in a realistic order but put drivers I liked ahead and drivers I didn't like lower down but still realistic. Plus Ben could do the backwards grid challenge like from F1CE
Had a similar safety car glitch on this circuit with the pace being set by the AI being too slow, 3 quarters of the field got drive throughs including me
man i'm with manor too, toro rosso made a huge upgrade and are now the 3rd best team and my new rival is Perez too. only i had 8 points before Russia and crashed out because kimi didn't want me to finish the race

I had nowhere to go and went straight up the back of him. Used a rewind which i hate doing. They really need to fix a few of these bugs. That warning you got for an illegal overtake on Massa was stupid too.
Am I the only one who seems to suck at this game? I want to be realistic so I don't use any assists but I just seem to spin out so easily. And then when I don't spin I'm too cautios. Does anyobody have tips on how to get better? :D
I'm exactly the same. I turned off assists and learnt to control the traction but now I'm too slow and cautious. I also keep getting hit by the AI and end up crashing all the time.
traction control on full and just work your way up the difficulty then take the traction control down to medium and see how you are (maybe take it down a difficulty) and then if your confident with traction control on medium take it off and maybe take the difficulty down if needed. Weak track for AI: Sochi,russia and some of the Europeans circuits (that's what it was like for me at least) I hoped this helped!
I'm the same. Although this is the first F1 game I've played since F1 2013! I use no assists and will continue playing like this till I work my way up the difficulties. I recommend that because then you can only get better with no assists.

Anybody have any tips for the qualy lap and tyre wear tests? I can't do them very well. The track acclimatisation test is fine and I'm competitive in the rave
For tyre wear tests you might want to turn on the racing line aid. You do get worse wear if you go off the racing line. Otherwise make sure you are turning smoothly and also ensure you are not just stomping on your pedals.
I think the VSC problem was, that they give you the target laptime and as you were right infront of the finishing line and the lap was driven under normal pace you've been way below this time. But this would be kinda stupid.
Is there any way to view the speed trap data in the game? I know you can see it on the live tv feed screen but how do you see your speed trap data vs everyone else's?
tiametmarduk i hope you will answer me , i bought this game like you on pre release , mainly thanks to your videos who inspired me to give it a go .. ive played till Monaco , and manage to develop my Renault to a mid grid car right behind the 4 best teams + torro rosso aka 6th place , altough ive felt the improvements of the car on my own driving , it seems that it is not affecting my IA teammate , magnussen. he his still trailling on the back grid among the saubers and manors , zhile he has a car that can rival mclarens force india and what not . I Wonder it its happening to you or people you know that has been playing the game consistently since the release . if it happens to be a bug its a huge one cause the point of R&D isnt just improving yourself but the team as a whole so you can also have a shot to score more points through your teammate and perhaps one day fight for the manufacturer title. Im hoping for your answer and input on that issue . thank you in advance mate keep up the good work on your vids
driving in wet on wets is undriveable in this game and thats with only med traction control .BEN what traction control do you use ,if off then try full wet its totaly undriveable even full traction control is hard this needs to be fixed
I am Struggeling with the Tire Managment and the Qualifing Pace on the difficulty after hard, i just cant catch with the delta laps i dont know why and lower difficultys are feeling shite because your way to fast, im playing with a xbox controller on the pc
Same thing happened to me an hour ago, same exact track, same exact place on the track. However I somehow didn't get a penalty. Game kept glitching back and forth on the delta time I was suppose to be running under VSC.
congrats on 9th i finished a bit higher im on a lower difficulty but its still not easy with arthritic hands (used to be able to play highest difficulty a few years back sigh) i qualied my best of 4th and came 2nd (had a train of cars up me ass but me is good on those corners i love russia sochi track
I did the same ben, I started on expert but it was so easy I qualified way higher than expected. legend is a lot harder tho but I enjoyed the challenge

stick to the corners hugging the apex. that helped a lot for me

The AI is too cautious, they don't overtake if you block them a bit, and if you try to overtake they immediately put their car behind.
