Hi Chris, superb video as always, I’ve owned the DDJ1000 and Rekordbox since it’s release, but have learned more in the last few months since finding your channel than in the few years using this kit, great channel, really well presented, thanks for your content. 😊
Just discovered your videos. Think they're great, clear and concise. Not sure where it would be but i find a lot if not all of my tracks when loaded start with the queue point at the very beginning, not necessarily the first beat of the first bar. Not sure if this is an option but it just means i need to cue each track i load.
Extremely useful video, thank you very much! I was able to access the configuration of my pads on the XDJ RX3 but I have a question: when I connect the computer, I have the configuration chosen in RB but when I use the usb key, the mapping of the FX pad changes...how do I copy the configuration chosen in RB to the key?
Hey Chris, agree with all the above. I like as much as I can but no one to share it too I'm afraid. Still...you have one more fan in me. QUESTION: The pad icon is greyed out in rekordbox on my flx4. Does this mean I can't use this functionality? Thanks
The pad settings are different when I have my laptop plugged in compared to my flash drive. Is there a way to edit the pad settings for when its being used with my flash drive?
I believe it would need to be connected to the laptop and midi mapped. I don't have a unit to test on to see if it retains the settings after being disconnected and put back into standalone mode though - let me know how you get on!
Hi Chris , I'm a new subscriber I just discovered your channel :)))) LOVE IT 💙✍️ I have a question about cue points. In rekordbox I configured all my cue points with colors. Saved with memory + colors and when I connect my USB key to the XDJ / X3 my colored cues are not available on the pads. What is the reason? Thank you 💫
In export mode, go to RB Prefs -> dj system->my settings. Expand player->dj setting and change 'Hot cue color' to ON. Come out of prefs, right click on your USB in the tree view on the left and do 'Import my settings' Now when you plug in the USB it should retain the colours 🙌
I actually don't 😅 This was just a quick demonstration of using beat jump, with each hot cue 2 bars (8 beats) apart. You can of course set this to however many bars you like. My usual approach is to set one on the drop and one 64 beats (16 bars) before. This works great for double drops in D&B which is what I mainly play. Any remaining HC I usually set on breakdowns or acapellas to allow me to jump around a bit

There is an option which will load the track at the first cue (if it has one). You can find it in controller->deck->load :)

I could be wrong but I believe the custom mappings will only work with RB connected
@@ReallyChrisM unfortunately this confirms what I feared ! Thanks for your answer !

Appreciate it! Yep no pad mode on the flx4 - have to use MIDI mapping instead. Video upcoming on this very thing 👀

Can you change the pad settings on an all in one unit, like the RX2 and use the new functions without a pc?
I believe it would need to be connected to the laptop and midi mapped. I don't have a unit to test on to see if it retains the settings after being disconnected and put back into standalone mode though - let me know how you get on!

Great content! Why you set 3 HCs every 2 bars before drop. What is the reason? How you are using these (first HC is 6 bars before drop).

I have a flx-4 why don’t i have the pad option in rekordbox?
It’s only supported on higher end controllers unfortunately. You can do the same thing though but using MIDI mapping instead
Oh yeah I need to learn Rekordbox better to understand what I want to do, these types of videos you do actually is what I need to study thank you!
Happy they are helping 🙏
