Your the man 👨 Chris....love your work and how professional in the ways you tackle even the most daunting problems anyone could face on any job....true professionalism of any operator i have seen .... on any You tuber.
I know that feeling when the limb hits the windshield. I had a late friend who owned a grading co. that I used to help on my days off from law enforcement, and I have had the same exact thing happen to me, and yes I said about the same thing you said when the limb hit. Watching you work and your key to details reminds me of my late friend. Like you he had the gift of being an excellent operator.
Man Chris I love you guys! You are the master of the heavy equipment and clearing field. Do me a favor. I am a safety guy (electrical) but I observe and suggest in several areas of industry. Go to one of the big box stores and invest in 6 full size red with reflective tape cones. ANYTIME you or another of your team members are in or close to the road CONE!!! I cringed when you were in the road with the excavator and when I guess it was Tim was in the road. Hey I have become very fond of you, your wit, wisdom and awesome skills. Please be safe out there! Motorists on a road like that one you were near (or anywhere for that matter) tend to be nuts!🙃
Larry Littleton Jr. Tim is a damn good worker and him and Chris get along real good from what I see through the videos and like you said he can run equipment good to
Working as many hours as you do, do your wrists ever ache/hurt/get tired? TGIFF......Thank Goodness, it's FINALLY Friday! Have a great weekend, Chris!👊👍😎😊
Finally had a line of thunder storms roll through here Friday. Picked up 35 yards of sod for a patch job on Saturday and is was sopping wet. Good for the sod however, it was messy to move. Told the guy at the yard that we ordered dry sod. He was not impressed.
My wife’s father operated heavy equipment for 50 years. He passed away several years ago. He would have loved to watch your videos as do I. Stay safe and keep them coming.
Another great video Chris I can’t wait do you get back over to where the minnow pond project is and start digging on the big pond, that’s gonna be some good videos they’re OK brother you Tim and John y’all stay safe and keep the videos coming man
I watched several videos of your clearing jobs. You sure know your machine. I have not used a large escalator only a small one with no joy sticks. Have to rent one with a Joy stick. Probably to much to rent. Rented Older Kaboda's do not have them, just sticks levers. I will have fun doing my clearing, as before, this fall. Riding with you has showed me some movements. I know that they have to be learned over time. Things must be handled thinking safety and not get stupid thinking I know every thing about the machine. Have a great day. Stay safe. Oh, by the way when the limb fell did you crack the windshield??
You'd think they would want to keep these trees in to block the view and traffic noise from the road. Unless their road access is connecting through right there?
They want it clear so they can get the house build. Concrete foundation, delivery of materials, etc. They can plant more trees to grow over time once they're done, but the priority is getting heavy equipment in.
@@Skorpychan Non-sense. Nowadays, here in Québec, you must save trees on your front lot when clearing for building. Heck, people is paying extra for wooded lots !
I remember watching a TV documentary about the differences between top racing drivers and ordinary folk. They used an apparatus that tracked eye movement and compared Michael Schumacher with competent drivers of the same age. What they found was that Michael Schumacher was taking in roughly ten times as much information as the normal folk, and assessing and reacting at an incredible speed. I was reminded of this watching Chris around the 18:00 mark, when his head was constantly moving and absorbing input, but only lingering for a fraction of a second. I honestly don't think many people could assess information that quickly - especially when controlling complex machinery in a stressful situation.
Leverage...the higher your bucket is when you push, the longer your lever is. This gives you stronger push over force. I could pry the worlds tallest buildings out of of the ground with my smallest finger if I were standing on the moon! Leverage is everything.
@letsdig18 I'm in the process of clearing a 750ft strip of pine trees 10ft off a freaking highway. It's the most nerve racking thing Ive very done! Our fat clay base doesn't help to much either..
13:53 is when I had to pause, undress, toss my drawls into the garbage outside, take a long, hot shower, and put on fresh undies. Lol. Damn, that was intense.
I can categorically assure you that the sound of a bomb going off is far more spectacular Chris. Especially a MK15 Barrack Buster launched by the IRA that lands 20 feet from your original standing position 😬👍🏼 Sphincter retention exercises begin...
Beautiful excavator work. Amazing that you do this work in shorts and sneakers. Your excavator skills are the best. But without protective gear, something ugly is going to happen. And, it won't be to the machine. You will be making an avoidable trip to the ER at some point. Do get yourself safe. You are too skilled to lose to preventable injury. I know you've "done this forever and it won't happen to you." Right? Turn an ankle in those sneakers on a twisting step down and suffer a trimalleolar fracture of your ankle and you will be out for much more than a year- at least two surgeries to get the hardware in your ankle placed. Then, a year to heal and pain and ankle dysfunction for the rest of your life. Do the same step in good boots, and you get up and get right back in your cab. See it every day in the E.R. Awesome video. Thank you. RHenry, M.D., Emergency Physician
Tim trying to rub out the track marks on the road, reminds me of a job years ago when the highway guy went along marking with chalk all the blemishes my digger driver had left on the road. Nearly wore out the soles of my boots walking along after he had left trying to rub out the marks he left..
As always great video, one day mud one dry dirt one day getting the hell scared outta ya,one day Tim one day one hell of a mess, one day on to the next job.life of Chris guans.😎😎😎😎👍👍
Hey Chris l know some people like to do things the hard way, but l didn't think you are one of them. You have Tim there all you had to do is lean the bucket on the tree while Tim cuts it and then you did up the roots!
I would suspect they have preset contracts for different segments of work consolidated potentially into one main brief summarized contract. Probably states something like clearing/removal of brush and trees. That alone legally obligates the company to remove the trees as they see fit. Them recylcing the good logs to a sawmill is just good practice in terms of enviromental waste. If they make some money off of it, then so be it. They are not getting rich alone off harvesting a few logs a job. Plus chris has zach at the sawmill i suspect all of these logs go to.. highly doubt any client would care as finding a company to sale the logs to and in most applications being a small harvest, would prove to be next to impossible.
@@karjack11 One thing: I had a 50acre lot I had to part with. Had I the resources, there were a dozen mature cherry trees that could have fetched $2-3K a piece in dried hardwood. But the logistics of harvesting them, milling, drying and selling was not practical. I agree that here, Chris has resources and developer is likely not interested.
Surprised Pulp is down. Lumber prices just quadrupled. From what we’re hearing, the pulp mills bought up lumber mill stock because a couple of governors didn’t think logging was essential. Apparently they didn’t understand how toilet paper is made. Now we can’t get our hand on pressure treated lumber for the next 2 months.
Last I knew pulp has been in the toilet in Maine for quite a while unless you are running chips. Pressure treated is in short supply here as well, our building supplier buys their pressure treated out of Canada I believe
got used to yesterday little bucket on the new Volvo? a little easier to dig next to those trees you are taking out. And who needed the windshield washer anyway

You know there is probably some beautiful pieces in some of those. I was raised in the south in a paper mill town so you can cut and burn all the pine trees you want... lol..
I had a tom turkey come thru the windshield. No,it didnt kill it. It beat the hell out of me before i could get the machine door open. Yes, it flew out and Id swear, it was giving me the middle claw (finger) on its journey back to the forest .
