- Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone! I hope you are all having a great weekend and have had a great week! Today, I thought that I would start a series for the month of February. This month, I will be doing episodes on some of JCPenneys’ finest labeled machines throughout the 60s through the 80s. For today’s episode, I thought I’d bring out a machine that it actually going to Jared, but has a history with Mitchell Armstrong as well as myself. Very attractive "Santa suit" or "St. Valentine" red and white 2665 Deluxe Upright! Thanks for the demo & background - including the original catalog page. I did want to mention that the styling of the Decade 80 Convertible series was indeed introduced in 1979, but the model line name "Decade 80" was introduced in 1980. The first two cleaners sporting the new design were the "Deluxe" Model U4151 and the "Elite" Model U4153 - definitely two you should have in your collection along with their "Decade 80" successors. Also, I wanted to mention that the only D80 with the "drawer" for the scent tablet was the Model U4381-930 (indicated by the suffix). Btw, JCP had another D80 exclusive that went by that model name and did not carry the JCP moniker - the Model U4407 in slate green. There is one currently listed on eBay. As for the Power Surge and 6-amp motors, it was an upgrade on the 1984 models: U4381, U4383, U4385, & U4407: so the 2665 was neck-in-neck with the contemporaneous Hoover D80s.

@@Konstellation_Karl_55 You're very welcome! Yeah, it would be neat to see a large JCP vacuum cleaner/polisher/shampoeer collection! Besides your videos, you might want to think about creating a website of your collection. Btw, vacuumland is my resource - lots of good trivia.
@@paco3343 oh yes! That’s actually in the works behind the scene, the JCP collection that is. I would love to set up a website too, I’m just not as versed in web design haha

It seems like it is much easier to find the skinny bag JCP uprights. I have a box top from 1977. It seems like MW machines are much more common than JCP machines
I agree with the exception of a couple MW machines. I also have the brick red 1979 JCP Ranger hood convertible too and I feel like there are only a couple know to exist of that one as well.
I have 2 MW MOL cordaways, from 1974, a basic MW from 1974, 2 MW canned hams, and a rare MW ESP withDAN, and MW Porta Power, circa 1977

Hey Karl, have you ever hooked up an attachment set to a Hoover Convertible and used the attachments to clean something, like furniture? Just curious.
I have yes, but I have found that while the attachment sets do work, I still prefer to use a Convertible as an upright as well as a canister for cleaning furniture. But that’s just my preference :)
