I like this approach. During a trip, so much is time-bound...a fairly specific time to pick up the rental car, etc. Previously, the best we could do was put a reminder on the note. I am more comfortable with accessing the information when *I* decide I want it rather than when I am interrupted with a reminder. I hope this one gets plenty of views. Very practical examples.
Well said! After this test, I'm even more inclined to use the calendar for everything time-related. It was so easy to find the needed notes in no time.
I'm constantly looking for examples of ways I can use Evernote, so I was excited to see this video I never thought of using the calendar feature this way, but I'm definitely going to try it. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Hi Glen, all my productivity system is calendar-based and the minute I was presented to this widget I got super excited. I love the way it brings the note into a prominent position, based on a specific date and time. But, I would love it to have a two-way sync functionality. Occasionally, I have to change the time or date of a meeting and I to do it today, we still have to go to Google Calendar to do it.
Thank you! It may not look like it, but though I'd love to share real-life use cases all the time, this kind of video is challenging to film. At this point in the channel's life, it is impossible to commit to it, but as the channel grows to a more sustainable business, I'll have more time and resources to do it. Meanwhile, rest assured that you'll see some videos like this shortly.
It's nice to see you so enthusiastic about Evernote. It almost made me come back to it. I must have tried every alternative out there, I'm using a combination of Obsidian (daily notes) and Apple Notes (simple archive) right now. Watching your videos I went back to see how Evernote is doing. I'm surprised it seems to hav become a little bit less slow by now. It has been my go to app for twelve years, so I'm pleased to see that. Then I wanted to even try out the new features. Yeah I'm one of those 'premium evernoters' that are mostly ignored by the company. It made me laugh that I cannot even upgrade. And then it offers the opportunity to contact support, but that crashes also. Still a lot of work to do for Evernote I see. I'll keep following your videos to see the progress ;-)
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I love Evernote, and it is a tool I actually use every day and all the time. That's why you see passion. As for the slowness, I agree. It's an unfortunate side effect of the much-needed rebuild of the app. Being a 12-year user, you might remember all the problems with note formatting when using Evernote on different systems. Even alternating between Mac and Windows would break some text formatting. And I have no words to describe the chaos of trying to do it on Android and iOS. Also, upgrades were so erratic and each system had features the other didn't. This is gone for good, but Evernote 10 is not an upgrade. It's a rebuild with all the complications of new software. Anyway, it is still far from perfect, but I never stopped using it and I can clearly feel the progress made under the hood after every update.
Hi Vlad, a lot of helpful tricks & tips, but as long as there is only a GoogleCal and no iCal integration it's not for me. But at least I use tasks with due dates very often 🤓
I agree, it has to have integration with other calendars. But I don't see why Evernote wouldn't add support for other popular ones, such as Apple's and Outlook's. I think it is only a matter of time. Let's wait and hope for the best 😉
Hello Vladimir! Greetings from Argentina! I'm wondering about how secure is Evernote... Is secure enough to store personal info.? Thank you in advance!
Hola Juan, no system is 100% safe, especially cloud-based ones. But considering that everyone has at least a decent quality camera in their pockets, in my humble opinion, it's incredibly easier to fraud you by taking a picture of your credit card, passport, or another document. That said, Evernote's business is information keeping. If they fail, credibility and consequently their business is over. But we also have to do our part. There are several settings available to better protect the information kept in Evernote. Have a good password, turn on 2 step authentication, never click on links on emails messages, etc. Extra caution on this last one. Even if it looks like a legit email from Evernote -or any other company- don't click it. Go to the service's website and check if everything is ok. I hope this sheds some light on the topic. And if you decide to use Evernote for your documents, I have a video explaining how a do it. ua-cam.com/video/PanpkfisvGs/v-deo.html Saludos, Vlad.
My return to Evernote has been so greatly improved by your videos. Thank you so much!
Wow! You just made my day. Thank you for the kind words 💚

Great use case, Vlad, to demo the power of 'new' Evernote! 👍

Evernote is good right now, I wish they could make mobile apps load a little bit faster. 👌🏻
