    I am 15 and know I already want to join up as a weapons engineering officer. But I have ADHD so I need to be three years off medication. So I will join up at 26 as I need medication for my university degree. So I plan to join in eleven years.

    3 MONTHS OFF??!!: It is NOT like that in general. You do get 30+days off annual leave but you are NOT guaranteed to get more than 2-3 weeks off at the end of a long deployment. This person has been very fortunate to get such a period of time off and it is not the norm.

    • @Nyle95
      @Nyle95 3 роки тому +2

      Think that's pretty standard on bombers

      The advert is for a Engineering rating. He is unlikely to get 3 months off even on an SSBN. It has not been an off crew for circa 15 yeary

    • @Nyle95
      @Nyle95 3 роки тому +2

      @@bobbnudd2502 I know people on V boats who are MEs who get months off at a time
      Edit: and the LET in the video is a WE so is probably more likely than an ME to get that amount of time off

    Is it really so exciting that you have to out yourself through months of being away from life and put your families through that too? 😔 If you have kids and a young wife, how does that work? Also there is no mental health support. Formally there is, but it's not helpful. Also no, they don't get 3 months off. And they get bullied a lot 😔

      You hear good stories RN make for marketing, but for majority it's not that shiny and happy. People churn rates are very high, and they hide it until you're too deep and can't get out, because you have to pay £20k back, which you won't have. Boats are undermaintained, understaffed, boys and girls are severely overworked. And that's all for a salary of a Starbucks manager?
