Agreed and this is key because i know a lot of people out there even depends on specific daw but at the end of the day it really doesnt matter what daw you use whether be cubase, reason or fruity loops. They all do the same thing. Just have different out look and interfaces and you can decide which one you like best for your workflow!
Hard to believe this came out 2 years ago. This is truly ahead of it's time and I listen daily. KOAN, keep on doing your thing you have never once failed to impress. And to this day 2 years after the release I listen to this song on replay all day. This whole album in fact. Love you dudes.
What I find really useful is Sylenth. Really versatile and great for progressive house synths. Massive is great too, it's just also complicated for the simple stuff but it's definately good to have. I'd maybe consider dune. It's not amazing but still has some pretty cool presets. Harmless too. There are tonnes of presets to try out :)
the key with his snare is layering a tom with two other snares maybe a woody snare with a clap and a tom? thats what gives the whole vibe. also its off beat. (very important). as far as synths id say massive, razor or fm8.... all are worthy of filthy sounds such as this... hope that helps.... and make sure you remember the tom layer with your snares.... very important
hehe, it's very difficult and it's all based on years of experience, skills and talent. If you have the things mentioned, a decent DAW is the first thing you need, then, depending on the DAW, you need plug-ins and a HUGE sample library. For this kind of drums - you need samples, for the rest of the sounds - some great VSTs etc.
wow Koan sound needs to team up with gramatik and make a few tracks if not an album. with Koans bounce and gramatiks jive it would be an ultra funky collaboration.
yeah it's pretty much all in the interface. Others may be easier for midi control or whatever but they all can make the same quality tracks with the right skills.
Assuming you're already a producer, you probably want something like the plugin NI Massive or FM8 to make that grimy bassline. As for the drums and little plucky bass, you're probably going to have to scavenge for them. The Neptunian Drums pack has a lot of pretty good world drums. Hope this helps :)
yeah right..... you're no KOAN, but FlStudios is impeccable to learn on if youre strapped for cash. Ableton Live is where it's at my friend, Vengeance sound Libraries are great, Sugar Bytes Cyclops is an incredible plugin, NI Massive is good as well and cheaper. Best of luck, its's a lot of work though, i would invest in a MIDI keyboard of sorts as well.
i use ableton as a daw. And there are millions of free samples on the internet, i got some from boyinaband. And there are some good free plugins around too. But the ones professional producers use are from Native Instruments. But there are also Sylenth, etc... hope this helps!
Fill a bowl with a simple reese bass, sprinkle on some creativity and a pich of experementation, mix it together and pour into a baking tin. Put it in the oven and cook it on 4000 degrees for 21 years and you should get something that sounds something like this song.
Sylenth1 or Massive. Get to learn them, you can make a bass just like theirs. Then get dblue which is free and learn it. dBlue + Massive = glitchyness!
KOAN sound use reason apparently, the maelstrom plugin is good. But it's still hard to make these sounds, your knowledge is much more important than the software you are using.
Русские рулят!!!Слава России!Да здравствует Россия!!!Скажем нет гайсам и скажем да людям!Слава Кыргызстану(моей родной стране)Всем кыргызстанцем привееет)))

Remember listening to this daily way back when. Damn good!!
sadly, this is my first time listening. i used to listen to owsla every day too.

You sir. Have just made my day. Thank you kindly. I shall now perform a dance of gratitude to this monster tune.

That bassline is nothing short of brilliant. Koan Sound is so fucking good with rhythms.

this is their best tune yet
"Ok guys, let's do some dancing let's show me my moves."

This is INSANELY good.
its all personal preference, if i had to pick, easily ableton live, everythings quantized, its great.
Best song on the EP
Aún recuerdo cuando jugaba Battlefield 2. Escuchando esto eras invencíble.
I'm getting fl soon and hope to start making tracks with it. What's a good synth? albino, massive?
Too the dude who said a collabo between koan sound and grammatik, I salute you
my favorite!!!
Also Rob Papens Predator, Blue, Battery 3 for the drums, maybe WAVES Compressors and EQs, Ohmicide, Sugar Bytes WOW Filter as well.
I'm glad I get to please my ears with this!
ok... i have... fl studio... reason.... ableton live... and logic pro 9.... which one is better???

clint eastwood dubstep remix by ohb
hey.... can sombody tell me how can I produce sounds like that... maybe software... plugin... or samples???
Zedd uses a few things, I think. I've seen clips of him using Logic, FL & Abelton...
I want this whole album on vinyl.
i use ableton as a daw. And there are millions of free samples on the internet, i got some from boyinaband. And there are some good free plugins around too. But the ones professional producers use are from Native Instruments. But there are also Sylenth, etc...

The young is strong in you.

yeah Fm8 or Sytrus, just any frequency modulator synthesiser in that matter.
really? Yea he's pretty good. I heard it doesn't matter if you use ableton/fl, they're all the same, just different interfaces right?
so funky

Doesnt KOAN use REASON not ableton? there are no vst's in reason, its all built into the program
All in a day's work. *flies off triumphantly*
Koan sound uses reason. But the main bass in this song sound like a distorted saw. which you can make in any plug.
KOAN Sound uses Reason, to produce I'm pretty sure

122k views ,1k likes, what??? why so low
fl studio 10 , pluging use massive and nexus fx ;) and you need 21432543654634 years of experience
koan is very original drum and bass luv it
Pretty sure he's just describing the "zappy" synths Koan Sound tends to use.
KOAN sound use reason apparently, the maelstrom plugin is good. But it's still hard to make these sounds, your knowledge is much more important than the software you are using.
most pros either use live or fl, i know skrill/deadmau5/guetta use live, zedd/porter robinson/avicii use fl
Sytrus is good for funk bass and rhodes.

Guru Pathik? :D
Lovely :D
ok thanks bro... I'll try it... hey!!! watch this... give me you opinion...

Native Instruments Massive, Albino 3, Fm8, Nexus
*shrugs* well, some people can think this is drum and bass just because of the reese bass :V it sounds a bit like NOISIA's, but yeah, you are right :V
