This is the most comprehensive breakdown of transportation in Portugal I have ever seen, and I have watched EVERYTHING Portugal! Thank you, thank you, thank you! You guys are awesome!
Yes you have two option for monthly pass. Is only 30€ month but only include your city (Lisbon), and the all Lisbon metropolitan region cost 40€ month. I have 30€ because i live and work in Odivelas. I never go to Lisbon, but if i need to make a extra course (normallyinside Lisbon) i recharge that month with 40€ (to give me acess to not only Odivelas, but Lisbon to). But in summer months i recharge my monthly pass with 40€ to give me access to go to the beach in Cascais. This 40€ monthly pass give you access to lots of cities near Lisbon, some cities by train are more than 40 minutes, like Setubal, Odivelas, Sintra, Cascais, Mafra, Vila F.Xira, Almada, C.Caparica, Estoril, Amadora, Palmela, Queluz. But no Coimbra is not included because dont belong to Lisbon metropolitan area. Some cities around Lisbon have castles/palaces, for exemple Mafra, Queluz, Sintra, Setúbal, Palmela, Cascais, Estoril... Lisbon is the main city, but small cities around Lisbon are very beautiful also.
Hello there! Portuguese here. I like your videos. It's nice to see a diferent perspective about Portugal. I just liked to ask you to search google translator and hear how to say Tejo river in portuguese, because you are pronouncing it like spanish. Thank you.
Hi Ana we took your advice and went to google translate. We now have the correct pronunciation of the Tejo river we will make the effort to say it correctly moving forward Thank You🙂
Some of those ferries can also take cars. The monthly cards are only available for residents (must have portuguese ID card or a Residency Card to request that card). CP = Comboios de Portugal (Portugal's trains) Scooters in the winter in some parts of Lisbon are tricky...
Hi friends 👋🏾 Thanks for the transportation info. Planning for Portugal trip in 2023! Can't wait for your upcoming videos. I've got my notifications set!! 😉
Hi! You surely got the right atitude moving to a new country. Wish you all the best. Don't forget you also have the rail connection through the bridge (Fertagus), so if it's only a ferry strike, you can always get the train to Almada, even if you're in the Belém area. It'll take you longer, but sure beats the 50€ for the Uber ride! ;-). Best of luck!
WE KNEW THAT and totally forgot. 🤪 We took the tram in Almada to Corroios and there was train there that goes across the bridge. Oh well, €50+ later...
Hi guys! Just wanted to say how invaluable this information really is. It makes the adventure of exploring a new place a lot more enjoyable when you are armed with information like this that helps you to navigate the area. Thanks for the video, the info, and the always positive vibes. Keep sending the smiles and the journey our way. We're enjoying them. :-) Take care.
Again, excellent info! Thank you! This helps to take some of the mystery out of what do we need to do to use the public transportation. We will definitely downlaod the apps. If I'm reading Google maps correctly, our Airnb is going to be near several bus stops and a10 minute walk to the Anjos Metro Station. Can we buy a Viva card at the train station? Or buy it on the app?
Thank you! Great info! Good to know!!! Yes, at least try the scooter 🛵 before committing to buy one🤭😉. Love, love the editing 💯. Love the monthly pass for all modes of transportation!

Hey hey hey ❤
One app, that we didn't know about when we made this vid is City Mapper - it can be used world wide and adjusts for each city. It's invaluable.

Scooters in the winter in some parts of Lisbon are tricky...
Thank you for watching, @António F. - those powered scooters for me are tricky anytime of year, or are you talking about Motor Scooters on the road?
@@OurBlackUtopia In that case I was talking about motor scooters, because of the slipery roads (those few made of stone).

Had to go WAY back to watch this again as a refresher. I think I'll get a Viva card this time. 👍🏾
It’s now branded as a Navagante. But you can get and the kiosks in the metro stations 😉

Glad it was helpful! Unless something has changed you cannot buy it on the app, but you definitely can at each metro station during working hours.
This is helpful. Thank you
