Let me add to the education. Evolution is why humans don't live on the sea floor. We evolved into a certain nitch and were so successful we eventually became the dominant animal on the planet, the apex predator and the apex herbivore. However, water is not a nitch were evolved in. There's another fish that, after doing the female thing of laying eggs and babysitting till they hatch, goes into hiding and transforms into a fully featured male with larger size and other characteristics, and goes about fertilizing females' eggs. This video misses the real problem. Gender is one of the most sublime and beautiful things in nature. The two genders are why birds sings, or peacocks have tails, or whales sing.....our would is full of trillions of males and females dancing, singing, even flashing lights to attract each other. This was very fascinating. Something I noticed though in relation to the Boyd’s forest dragon and the mandarin duck is that in the examples given they were captive animals. The lizard was in an aquarium and the duck was referred to in the article as if it belonged to someone. Why is it so unlikely that their cases where instances of misidentification of their gender, or that it was a exception caused by their captivity in some way. Taking the exception and making it the rule doesn’t seem very scientific. In regard to mammals it’s common to hear people give examples of atypical sexual behaviors. Everything from megafauna like elephants and lions to smaller animals like Adele penguins. What they and it seems the scientific community fail to study are the effects of population density or separation due to human development or the harshness of the environment, the stresses brought on by their environments or population density, or the examples of atypical reproductive behaviors that are so unnatural that they cannot be seen as natural. All that said, I greatly appreciate when anyone brings this subject to light. Forcing animals into any human standard is a disservice to them for the sake of allowing some humans to feel better about themselves. That’s not science, that’s propaganda in the literal sense. OK the leafy sea dragon example isn’t even accurate. Yes sea dragons, like the seahorse, have the fathers guard the babies, but they actually don’t have a pouch the way seahorses do, instead the eggs get imbedded in an area of the skin on the belly that has evolved for holding them. And the seahorse’s pouch doesn’t have a placenta. Also your summary at the end labeled jellyfish as fish (they’re invertebrates) and seahorses as marine invertebrates (they’re fish).

This video misses the real problem. Gender is one of the most sublime and beautiful things in nature. The two genders are why birds sings, or peacocks have tails, or whales sing.....our would is full of trillions of males and females dancing, singing, even flashing lights to attract each other. Every square foot of our land and sea is filled with awe-inspiring beauty forever by two genders. A mother's love is as beautiful a part of nature as waterfalls or mountains, and so on. If gender dies, nature will probably die, too.

Animal gender will not die (unless the whole species is eradicated). Human gender will not either, there's too few people pushing said idea, even if they look like they're more and again, unless extinction.
The real problem is that the term gender is utterly nonsense. There is sex and that's it. There is nothing else. The word gender existed for awhile but it was never used to refer to Sex until the scumbag,Dr.John Money, popularized it's use in the 1950's and 60's. The word should never be used and only serves to confuse things which is exactly what these crazy people want.

This was very fascinating. Something I noticed though in relation to the Boyd’s forest dragon and the mandarin duck is that in the examples given they were captive animals. The lizard was in an aquarium and the duck was referred to in the article as if it belonged to someone. Why is it so unlikely that their cases where instances of misidentification of their gender, or that it was a exception caused by their captivity in some way. Taking the exception and making it the rule doesn’t seem very scientific.
In regard to mammals it’s common to hear people give examples of atypical sexual behaviors. Everything from megafauna like elephants and lions to smaller animals like Adele penguins. What they and it seems the scientific community fail to study are the effects of population density or separation due to human development or the harshness of the environment, the stresses brought on by their environments or population density, or the examples of atypical reproductive behaviors that are so unnatural that they cannot be seen as natural.
All that said, I greatly appreciate when anyone brings this subject to light. Forcing animals into any human standard is a disservice to them for the sake of allowing some humans to feel better about themselves. That’s not science, that’s propaganda in the literal sense.

Anyway, the main takeaway here is that those are species-specific traits, resulting from evolution and constituting adaptations optimising the ability of the species to produce offspring as this is all the sex is about, changing or not. In humans 'trans' is exactly the opposite, practically sterilising the individual and removing them from evolutionary process of the human species.
In all fairness, even before the whole transgender debate, we already started slowing down the rate of our evolution from the very second we started civilizing ourselves. No need for the process of evolution when we sculpt the world around us to be much easier to live in. We were already removed from the evolutionary process. This was just the next logical step

I am transgender and love biology, specially zoology and evolution. I am EXHAUSTED of hearing these claims from people who have no clue about biology. You don’t see me compare myself to another animal, because being transgender is a societal thing UNIQUE to humans. We are an emotionally, conscious, and intelligently complex species. That’s the beauty of being human.

I thought gender was different to sex and exclusive to human beings since gender is how we interpret sex. Unless there are people who believe that gender and sex are the same and humans can change their literal sex I am confused as to why there is an argument about "trans" animals.
1) Does the animal eating the trans animal know it's trans?
2) Does a trans animal taste different?
3) Do the normal animals let the trans animal play the "reindeer" games? Or do they go to the broken "toy" section?

OK the leafy sea dragon example isn’t even accurate. Yes sea dragons, like the seahorse, have the fathers guard the babies, but they actually don’t have a pouch the way seahorses do, instead the eggs get imbedded in an area of the skin on the belly that has evolved for holding them. And the seahorse’s pouch doesn’t have a placenta.
Also your summary at the end labeled jellyfish as fish (they’re invertebrates) and seahorses as marine invertebrates (they’re fish).
.......so it's a fucking pouch.
