Ohio Black Leaders Urge No Vote on Issue 1

Issue 1 is founded in the concept of proportionality, That's just another term for gerrymandering. Issue 1’s percentage-based proportionality equals fixed outcomes, removes competition, and undermines the long-held standard of one person-one vote. And it comes at the expense of Ohio's minority communities, specifically the Black community. It disenfranchises the voice of the Black voter. Senator Michele Reynolds held a bipartisan news conference featuring former Representative John Barnes and the Former Chair of Michigan's Citizens Redistricting panel, to expose the danger Issue 1 represents to the Black community.
